Red Sox vs Astros Prediction, Picks & Odds — Wednesday, August 13

Faria's prediction: Carlos Correa back in an Astros uniform just feels right and tonight he gets back on track with an RBI against Red Sox starter Walker Buehler after Houston’s blowout loss.

The Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros wrap up their series at Daikin Park tonight after Tuesday’s 14-1 Houston beatdown — but with Carlos Correa due for a bounce-back, I’m backing the Astros to respond in Wednesday’s finale.

Let's get into my Red Sox vs. Astros predictions and MLB picks as I expect him to lead the charge on Wednesday, August 13.

Red Sox vs Astros prediction

Red Sox vs Astros best bet: Carlos Correa Over 0.5 RBI (+160 at Caesars)

The Houston Astros had a rough night at the plate on Tuesday, as they didn’t get on the board until the bottom of the ninth. Carlos Correa was no exception, going 0-for-3, but the Astros infielder should get back on track tonight against Walker Buehler and the Boston Red Sox.

Correa has been on an absolute tear since rejoining the Astros at this year’s trade deadline, leading the club with a .364 average, 16 hits, and 24 total bases. Before Tuesday’s loss, Correa had an RBI in five straight contests and seven of his last eight games.

Buehler was excellent for the Red Sox in his last start on August 8, pitching six scoreless innings against the San Diego Padres. However, that’s been the exception more than the rule for the right-hander this year.

Buehler carries a 5.40 ERA and a 1.56 WHIP over 20 starts and has allowed 3+ earned runs in nine of his last 12. In fact, the Astros got to him for nine hits and three earned runs in just 4 1/3 innings on August 2 – a game in which Correa had two knocks.

Carlos Correa Over 0.5 RBI

Jose Altuve Over 0.5 singles

Astros moneyline

Jose Altuve also continues to swing his hot bat with a .302 average in August. The veteran has 13 hits in his last 10 games – eight of which are singles. Altuve’s 87 singles are also tied for the 12th-most in the majors this year.

Hunter Brown should easily outclass Buehler. Brown owns a stingy 2.51 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP, so I’m not expecting a repeat of last night’s drubbing.
