Rays vs Yankees Prediction, Picks & Best Bets — Tuesday, July 29

Allen's best bet: Max Fried has pitched better at home than on the road, particularly in the strikeout department. A 6+ inning outing looms against the Rays, which will be enough to clear a modest K total.

The Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees continue their four-game set tonight in the Bronx at Yankee Stadium.

Max Fried has been the ace of this New York staff, and my Rays vs Yankees predictions have him missing a fair share of Tampa bats this evening.

Rays vs Yankees prediction

My Rays vs Yankees best bet: Max Fried Over 5.5 strikeouts (-110 at DraftKings)

The New York Yankees signed Max Fried to a historic deal last offseason, and he’s been worth every penny. With Gerrit Cole out, the left-hander has stepped up to lead the rotation, going 11-4 in 21 starts with an impressive 2.62 ERA. When it comes to strikeouts, he has 116 in 127 1/3 innings of work.

While he’s actually cashed the Under in Ks in four straight appearances, there’s reason to believe that will change tonight. He struck out six Tampa Bay Rays hitters earlier this season, and the lefty's swing-and-miss stuff plays a lot better on his home mound.

At Yankee Stadium, Fried has racked up 52 punchouts in 52 1/3 frames. On the road, he has 64 in 75. He’s also cashed the Over in strikeouts in three of his previous four home outings, and Tampa sits 15th in the Majors in team Ks.

New York needs a signature Fried performance, and I believe he will bring his best, which will include a healthy number of strikeouts..

Rays vs Yankees same-game parlay (SGP)

Max Fried Over 5.5 strikeouts

Giancarlo Stanton home run

Junior Caminero Under 0.5 hits

Giancarlo Stanton is batting .275 with seven home runs in just 102 at-bats. With Aaron Judge sidelined, the Yankees need Stanton to rise to the occasion.

He’s gone deep in three of his last six contests, and six of his seven bombs have come off right-handers like Tampa SP Joe Boyle. And even if Boyle doesn't surrender a bomb, he's been primarily used as a long reliever since being recalled in early July, so the leash could be short.

It’s not very often that I’d bet against Junior Caminero to get a hit, but this is an exception. The All-Star is hitless in two of his last three appearances, and he’s struggling immensely on the road this season, batting just .171 away from Tampa.

He’s also hitting only .234 off lefties, and Fried has gotten the better of him in the past, with Caminero 0-for-6 lifetime against the talented southpaw.
