Rays vs Blue Jays Prediction, Picks & Odds for Today’s MLB Game

Kevin Gausman has looked much better at home than on the road this season and that will translate into another excellent outing at the Rogers Centre vs. the Rays.

The Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays finish up a three-game set this afternoon at the Rogers Centre.

Kevin Gausman has been throwing the ball well lately and my Rays vs Blue Jays predictions explain why that could continue in the rubber match.

Read more in my MLB picks for Thursday, May 15.

Rays vs Blue Jays prediction

My Rays vs Blue Jays best bet: Kevin Gausman Under 1.5 earned runs (+140 at bet365)

Kevin Gausman is having a respectable campaign for the Toronto Blue Jays, pitching to a 3-3 record and 3.97 ERA over eight starts. He’s struck out 40 in 45 1/3 innings of work while walking just 12 hitters.

The right-hander has cashed the Under in earned runs allowed once in his last two outings, limiting the Cleveland Guardians to one hit and no runs across six innings earlier in the month.

There’s reason to believe he could keep the Tampa Bay Rays offense under control today as well. Gausman’s ERA sits at 2.00 at home in three appearances in 2025, surrendering a mere four earned runs in 18 innings. He’s a mile better at the Rogers Centre compared to on the road.

The Rays rank toward the bottom of the league in a lot of offensive categories and Gausman posted a 3.48 ERA against them last season in two starts.

While Tampa’s lineup is actually hitting .364 versus the veteran, I have enough faith in his past success against them when it comes to limiting the runs, plus how Gausman performs on his home mound.

Rays vs Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

Kevin Gausman Under 1.5 earned runs

Zack Littell Under 2.5 earned runs

Alejandro Kirk Over 0.5 hits

We’re also going to predict a quality start for Rays righty Zack Littell.

The 29-year-old may have a 4.40 ERA this season, but he’s been more consistent lately, allowing Under 2.5 earned runs in three of his last four appearances. He’s allowed two apiece in each of his last three starts, and two of those came against a pair of very good offensive teams in the New York Yankees and San Diego Padres.

Littell tossed six scoreless versus the Blue Jays in 2024 and Toronto isn’t exactly thriving at the dish, either. Despite their .304 average as a lineup against Littell, I’m expecting him to have another solid outing and keep his team in this ball game.

Alejandro Kirk is raking this season, batting .293 with three home runs and 16 RBI.

Kirk was 2-for-4 in Wednesday’s victory and has cashed the Over in hits in nine of his last 10. He’s also a perfect 2-for-2 against Littell and will keep it rolling in the series finale.
