It’s a full day on the diamond with 18 games on the docket, and my top MLB picks are headlined by San Francisco Giants star Rafael Devers.

I’m also looking at Los Angeles Angels lefty Yusei Kikuchi and Philadelphia Phillies rookie Mick Abel to round out my trio of MLB player props for Wednesday, July 2.

Best MLB player props today

  • Giants Devers o1.5 H+R+RBI (-110)
  • Angels Kikuchi u17.5 outs (-120)
  • Phillies Abel o3.5 Ks (+110)

MLB props for July 2

Rafael Devers Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI (-110 at BetMGM)

Even with San Francisco Giants designated hitter Rafael Devers reeling along a down year, he still sports an elite .380 wOBA, .261 ISO, and .908 OPS against righties since the beginning of the 2023 campaign.

His current 8-for-43 run at the dish has resulted in just four runs, eight hits, and four RBI and a .658 OPS, so I’m anticipating the two-time Silver Slugger kicking the funk tonight.

Arizona Diamondbacks righty Merrill Kelly has also served up a healthy 45.1% hard-hit rate, and our MLB prop projections give this Devers Over a five-star rating.

Yusei Kikuchi Under 17.5 outs recorded (-120 at DraftKings)

Los Angeles Angels lefty Yusei Kikuchi has thrown triple-digit pitches in consecutive starts with seven innings pitched in each. The southpaw has been tidy this season with a 2.79 ERA, but his 4.10 xFIP and 81.6% strand rate suggest tougher times are coming.

The Atlanta Braves are also a ripe candidate for better luck at the dish with the sixth-lowest BABIP against left-handed pitchers and fourth-lowest overall across the past 30 days.

Mick Abel Over 3.5 strikeouts (+110 at DraftKings)

While Philadelphia Phillies rookie Mick Abel hasn’t replicated his brilliant MLB debut across his past four starts, I’m anticipating an uptick in strikeouts Wednesday.

Abel fanned nine in his first outing of the season and posted a solid 10.58 K/9 and 28.0 K% over 57 minor-league innings, so his respective 4.67 and 12.2% marks across his past four games are unsustainably low.

The San Diego Padres have the fourth-lowest strikeout percentage against righties, but they also rank 25th in wOBA and 28th in ISO, so I’m anticipating Abel to pitch deep enough to record four or more strikeouts.
