Our 3 best MLB player props for Tuesday, September 23
Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.
Prop #1: Cristopher Sanchez Under 1.5 earned runs
The Philadelphia Phillies send their ace to the hill tonight in Cristopher Sanchez. Despite being snubbed from the All-Star Game, his statistics have been spectacular. The left-hander owns a 13-5 record and 2.66 ERA this season, striking out 198 in 189 1/3 innings while walking just 43 hitters.
Sanchez has cashed the Under in earned runs allowed in three of his last four starts, giving up just one earned run in each of those outings. While he was tagged for four earned runs last Tuesday against the Dodgers, he dominated the Mets and Marlins before that.
In fact, Sanchez faces the Miami Marlins again tonight, and he owns a 1.20 ERA this year against them, allowing just two earned runs across 15 innings. The southpaw will bring his best.

Prop #2: Luis Gil Under 5.5 strikeouts
The New York Yankees are certainly happy to have Luis Gil back in their rotation after he missed a lot of the season through injury. He’s pitching well with a 3.33 ERA, but the right-hander isn’t striking out a ton of hitters, racking up 36 Ks in 46 innings of work, hence why I’m seeing value in the Under this evening.
Gil has hit the Under in punchouts in seven of his nine starts since returning from the IL. He’s only compiled seven strikeouts across three appearances in September, striking out just two hitters last time he took the mound against the Red Sox.
While the Chicago White Sox are by no means an elite offensive team, the trends say it all here. He’ll pitch to contact tonight and likely stay under six punchouts.

Prop #3: Mookie Betts Over 1.5 total bases
While Mookie Betts is hitting just .258 overall, it’s been a nice month for him. He’s batting .312 in September with six home runs and 20 RBI. He’s cashed the Over for total bases in five of his last nine contests, and there’s reason to believe that could happen tonight again.
The Los Angeles Dodgers begin a series with the Arizona Diamondbacks, and they'll face right-hander Brandon Pfaadt. Betts has done no wrong against him, going 9-for-20 with a pair of homers. Pfaadt is having a rough campaign, and Betts comes into this matchup with momentum.
He’s also raked against Arizona in 2025, batting .372 with three long balls and five RBI.
