MLB Player Props & Best Bets Today for September 22: Nado Turns Back the Clock

Much like his Cardinals on the whole, Nolan Arenado has had a season to forget, but he's had success vs. Giants SP Justin Verlander in the past. We like the plus-money odds on him clearing his TB prop.

Our 3 best MLB player props for Monday, September 22

Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.

Prop #1: Chris Sale Under 1.5 earned runs

-115 at Caesars

Chris Sale has been absolutely dominant this season after winning the Cy Young last year, serving as one of the few bright spots for the struggling Atlanta Braves. Despite missing time due to injury, the left-hander still owns a 2.35 ERA record through 19 starts.

The veteran has cashed the Under in earned runs allowed in six of his last seven outings. Last time out, Sale held the Washington Nationals to zero runs across eight fantastic innings. Sure enough, he’ll face them again tonight, and the Nats are batting a mere .194 against Sale over 62 at-bats.

The 36-year-old is dealing, and Washington should pose no threat to him as he tosses another gem for our MLB picks.

Prop #2: Freddy Peralta Under 1.5 earned runs

+115 at Caesars

Milwaukee Brewers ace Freddy Peralta is set to partake in quite the pitcher’s duel against San Diego Padres stud Nick Pivetta

The Brewers right-hander is 17-6 with a 2.65 ERA, striking out 195 in 169 2/3 innings of work. He’s posted five scoreless starts in his last seven, and also cashed the Under last week, holding the Los Angeles Angels to one run in six frames while striking out 10.

He’s yet to face the Padres in 2025, but the track record is impressive. Peralta has limited San Diego to a .125 average across 64 at-bats. The likes of Manny Machado, Fernando Tatis Jr, and Luis Arraez have had minimal success, and he's in line for another spectacular outing.

Prop #3: Nolan Arenado Over 1.5 total bases

+140 at Caesars

We’ll finish off the day with Nolan Arenado, as his St. Louis Cardinals will face the San Francisco Giants and future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander. Verlander isn’t having the greatest campaign, and Arenado has managed to swing it well against him in the past.

He’s 4-for-13 lifetime with a homer, and although Arenado is having a down year, he comes into this one in good shape. Arenado has cashed the Over in total bases in back-to-back contests, going 2-for-4 on Saturday and 1-for-5 on Friday with a double.

He’ll carry that into a matchup against a familiar foe.
