MLB Player Props & Best Bets Today for September 15: Mookie Magic

Mookie Betts is starting to look like the former MVP Dodgers fans have been longing for in 2025. We're backing him against Phillies SP Ranger Suarez, against whom he's found success in a small sample.

Our 3 best MLB player props for Monday, September 15

Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.

Prop #1: Carlos Rodon Under 2.5 earned runs

-141 at Caesars

The New York Yankees send Carlos Rodon to the hill to begin a series with the Minnesota Twins tonight. He’s been brilliant of late, posting a 3.15 ERA in August, and the lefty has carried that momentum into September.

Rodon has allowed Under 2.5 earned runs in seven consecutive outings, compiling a 3.11 ERA overall on the year. He has a 2.25 ERA this month and gave up just two earned runs last time out against a very good Detroit Tigers team.

He’s faced Minnesota once this season, and it was a gem. Rodon tossed seven frames of one-run baseball, holding the Twins to just one hit while striking out five. He’s throwing the baseball with boatloads of confidence right now, and I expect another solid outing.

Prop #2: Jameson Taillon Over 4.5 strikeouts

+110 at Caesars

Chicago Cubs right-hander Jameson Taillon has racked up 83 Ks in 110 2/3 innings of work, which isn’t a huge number by any means. But consider the opponent.

Taillon struck out seven Pittsburgh Pirates in 6 1/3 innings earlier this year. Although he hasn’t been striking out a ton of hitters over the last month, Pittsburgh strikes out a lot, ranking eighth in the bigs.

Prop #3: Mookie Betts Over 1.5 total bases

+100 at Caesars

Mookie Betts was part of my picks for Saturday, and he came through. We’re eyeing him again tonight as the Los Angeles Dodgers face the Philadelphia Phillies. Betts is tearing the cover off the baseball, hitting .462 across the last week alone, and just had an impressive weekend.

The superstar cashed the Over in total bases in back-to-back games against the San Francisco Giants, finishing with five hits. He was 3-for-4 on Sunday in a big 10-2 win.

Betts is 4-for-9 lifetime with a pair of home runs against Phillies SP Ranger Suarez and is hitting .267 against left-handed pitchers as well.
