Tonight’s showdown between the New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers will draw all the eyeballs, but there’s plenty more to enjoy on this Monday slate.
The Milwaukee Brewers have strung together seven straight victories, while the Detroit Tigers can become the first team to reach the 40-win mark – and my favorite MLB picks dip into both those ball clubs.
Read on for my top MLB player props for the June 2 schedule.

MLB props for June 2
Jack Flaherty Over 6.5 strikeouts (+110 at Caesars)
While Detroit Tigers starter Jack Flaherty’s 4.67 ERA in May prompted a few minor alarms, he was back to his best last time out, pitching six scoreless innings against the San Francisco Giants. The arrow is pointing up ahead of tonight’s clash with the lowly Chicago White Sox, and I’m jumping on the Flaherty strikeouts Over.
Even in some of his rockier starts, he’s been piling up Ks this season, bagging 34 punchouts across his last five outings and sitting inside the Top 20 in that category this year across the majors. He should pad that tally here against a team he’s dominated in the prior meetings.
Flaherty flummoxed this White Sox lineup on the way to seven strikeouts in early April, and he hit the Over on this 6.5 number in both matchups against Chicago last season.
The White Sox didn’t score more than two runs in any of their weekend contests in Baltimore, and they look vulnerable heading into this battle against Flaherty.
Jackson Chourio Over 0.5 RBIs (+130 at Caesars)
The Milwaukee Brewers are clawing their way back into the NL Central division race, and Jackson Chourio seems to be heating up in time to carry the fight into June. He had eight hits, including six RBIs, in the eye-catching weekend sweep against the Philadelphia Phillies, and I’m taking these plus odds for the center fielder to drive in another run tonight.
Though Chourio is still trying to recapture some of the glow from his rookie year, there were encouraging signs in his four-hit effort on Saturday, headlined by a three-run dinger.
Now the Cincinnati Reds are in the firing line. Chourio hasn’t seen much of Reds starter Brady Singer (1-for-3), but he’s done some of his best hitting on the road this year, with a .298 batting average and 22 RBIs away from American Family Field.
Look for Milwaukee to put early pressure on Singer, who allowed 7+ hits in three of his five May starts, and there should be RBI opportunities for Chourio later in the game too, with the Brewers getting five hits from the Nos. 7, 8 and 9 spots in yesterday’s win.
Manny Machado Over 1.5 total bases (+120 at Caesars)
Sometimes a matchup just jumps off the screen, and that’s a good way to describe tonight’s head-to-head battle between Manny Machado and Logan Webb.
Machado has a 13-for-35 career record against the San Francisco Giants righty, with a homer, a double and five RBIs.
Coming off an impressive May where he posted a .340 batting average and a .954 OPS, Machado has served up 1+ hit in eight of his past nine games. He’s made good contact on his travels this year, notching 34 of his 65 hits on the road, and I’m banking on that trumping Webb’s steady 2.82 ERA.
Peeling back the numbers a little, Webb has given up 17 hits and nine runs across his last two outings, so the early-season freshness may be wearing off. If he’s short of his best again here, the San Diego Padres have the bats to take advantage. Machado stands out as the danger man, and I love this price for 2+ bases.
