Pirates vs Tigers prediction

My Pirates vs Tigers best bet: Under 8 (-105 at DraftKings)

Bailey Falter is in his third season with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and he's finally finding some success. The southpaw is 5-3 with a 3.36 ERA and 1.12 WHIP across 75 innings in 14 starts this season.

After a rough start to the year with 20 earned runs allowed in his first six starts, Falter has allowed just eight earned runs in his last eight starts, four of which came against a good Phillies team. He’s found something this season and it’s working for the lefthander.

Casey Mize is also settling in nicely this season for the Detroit Tigers. He is 6-2 with a 2.95 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 61 innings (11 starts). Since allowing four runs on May 1 against the Angels, the former first-overall pick hasn't allowed more than three runs in a game with a total of nine earned runs in 24 1/3 innings.

Of course, the Pirates also have the worst offense in the league at 3.18 runs per game, and they haven’t reached three runs in any of their last four contests.

The Pirates shouldn’t get more than a few runs and Falter should be able to keep the Tigers in check to cash this Under 8.

Pirates vs Tigers same-game parlay (SGP)

Under 8

Pirates +1.5

Javier Baez 1+ hits

The Pirates have kept games close recently, and that should be the case again here tonight with Falter on the mound. The +1.5 run line is around -125, which seems low given that their last four losses have all been by one run.

Javier Baez has turned back the clock this season with a .280 batting average and .756 OPS. He's thriving against left-handed pitching with 21 hits in 59 at-bats for a .356 batting average, and he's hitting .389 overall in the past week.
