The Philadelphia Phillies and Cincinnati Reds will hit the field at Great American Ball Park for the second game of their series Tuesday, August 12.

Philly took the opener 4-1, and my top MLB picks and Phillies vs. Reds predictions are calling for more of the same with Philadelphia lefty Ranger Suarez holding the Cincy bats in check.

Phillies vs Reds prediction

Phillies vs Reds best bet: Phillies -1.5 run line (+110 at Bet99)

The Philadelphia Phillies have a notable pitching advantage with Ranger Suarez bringing a tidy 2.94 ERA and 1.15 WHIP to the hill to face the Cincinnati Reds tonight.

Cincinnati struggles against southpaws, too.

The Reds sport a 25th-ranked wOBA against lefties for the season, in addition to the lowest ISO, second-lowest wOBA and fourth-highest strikeout percentage against them since the All-Star break.

Suarez should quickly shift into cruise control and hold the Cincy lineup in check.

On the flip side, the Philly bats are set to have a solid night at the dish.

Reds righty Brady Singer has been mediocre in his first season with the club and sports a run-of-the-mill 4.53 ERA and 1.35 WHIP while allowing a 41.4% hard-hit rate.

So, with Philly ranking sixth in wOBA against righties for the campaign and sporting the second-highest mark in the second half, I’m anticipating the Phillies putting multiple crooked numbers on the scoreboard tonight.

Phillies vs Reds same-game parlay (SGP)

Phillies -1.5 run line

Under 10.5

Brandon Marsh Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI

With Suarez set to limit the damage to the Reds, I’m expecting this game to stay Under the 10.5 total.

While the highlighted solid matchup for the Philly lineup has my attention, Singer has pitched better across his past seven home outings with a 3.40 ERA and 1.24 WHIP.

Turning to the final leg of this same-game parlay, Phillies outfielder Brandon Marsh has the platoon advantage against Singer and sports a solid .350 wOBA against righties.

He’s also settled into a nice groove at the dish with nine runs, 17 hits and seven RBI to go along with a monster 1.407 OPS across his past 40 plate appearances.
