Phillies vs Mets best bet: Juan Soto Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI (-130)
Juan Soto has cleared his H+R+R line in five consecutive games, and there’s no reason to expect him to slow down Wednesday night.
Soto draws an advantageous matchup against Taijuan Walker, with the splits working heavily in his favor. Soto has posted a drastically higher batting average against right-handed pitching and an ISO close to double what he’s managed when facing lefties (.286 vs. 158).
Perhaps more importantly, Soto also profiles well against Walker’s pitch mix. The veteran righty leans heavily on the cutter against left-handed bets.
That’s good news for Soto, who has hit .385 with a .410 ISO against cutters thrown by right-handed pitchers this season.
Soto has a solid track record against Walker as well. He’s 4-for-13 (.308 average) with a couple of extra base hits as well as two walks.
He’s shown the ability to consistently get on base against Walker, positioning him well to find success early. When Walker does exit the game, Soto will see a struggling Philadelphia Phillies bullpen that ranks 26th in ERA over the last 30 days.
Phillies vs Mets same-game parlay (SGP)
Francisco Lindor has hit .277 against right-handed pitching this season with 42 extra-base hits. While Lindor hasn’t found much success against Walker in the past, he owns averages of .278 and .304 against Walker’s two most-used pitches. On paper, this is a good matchup for him.
Nolan McLean has really impressed over his first two starts, allowing two runs while striking out 15 through 12 innings. If he can build on those efforts, and star bats like Soto and Lindor come through, the New York Mets have a good chance of winning convincingly.
