The Baltimore Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays meet in the series opener of a three-game set tonight as the second half begins following an exciting All-Star break.

Charlie Morton is starting to find his best lately, and my Orioles vs. Rays predictions are expecting another solid outing from the veteran.

Orioles vs Rays prediction

My Orioles vs Rays best bet: Charlie Morton Under 2.5 earned runs (-120 at BET99)

Charlie Morton signed a one-year deal with the Baltimore Orioles last winter, and he’s failed to live up to expectations after being such a dominant force with the Atlanta Braves. That being said, the right-hander is starting to come around.

While Morton’s ERA sits at 5.15, he posted a 2.88 ERA in June. July has been a lot of the same, compiling a 2.38 ERA through a pair of starts against the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets.

The 41-year-old has cashed the Under in earned runs surrendered in four of his last five appearances. Before the ASG break on July 10, Morton gave up just one earned to the Mets across six quality innings of work.

Morton is no stranger to facing Tampa Bay, either. He carved them up last month, only allowing one earned run in six frames while striking out seven. This Tampa Bay Rays lineup is hitting just .208 against Morton across 48 at-bats, and he also has 18 Ks.

You can see he’s throwing the ball with a lot more confidence again, and the results are speaking for themselves. Morton will carve again tonight.

Orioles vs Rays same-game parlay (SGP)

Charlie Morton Under 2.5 earned runs

Jonathan Aranda Over 1.5 total bases

Gunnar Henderson Over 0.5 singles

Jonathan Aranda is batting .324 in 2025 with 11 home runs and 49 RBI. He cashed the Over in total bases in three of his final five games in the first half.

He’s 1-for-3 lifetime against Morton, but more importantly, Aranda is raking against the Orioles this season with a .357 average. He’s 10-for-27 with a double and two home runs.

Gunnar Henderson continues to show out offensively, batting .280 with 11 bombs. The power output isn’t what we’re used to seeing from Henderson, but he’s consistently producing overall.

The O’s face Taj Bradley tonight, and Henderson has had reasonable success against him, going 7-for-17 lifetime. Five of those hits have been singles, and Henderson has cashed the Over in base knocks in five consecutive appearances as well.
