Mariners vs Blue Jays Home Run Picks & Best Bets for ALCS Game 7

Plenty of home runs have already been hit in the ALCS, so how about some more? Julio Rodriguez took Shane Bieber deep in Game 3, and he's a top candidate to take the Blue Jays RHP yard again tonight.

The American League Championship Series has been somewhat of a home run derby, with the two sides combining to hit 22 through six games. That’s an average of 3.7 homers per.

Let’s zoom in on a couple of the more likely players to go yard with my favorite MLB home run picks for this highly anticipated Game 7 on Monday, October 20.

It's all part of our Game 7 Mariners vs. Blue Jays predictions and MLB picks.

Mariners home run pick

Julio Rodriguez (+450 at BetMGM)

It’s hard to overstate how greatly Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez benefits from playing away from T-Mobile Park. This year, he hit .284 with 24 homers on the road compared to .236 with 11 homers in Seattle.

Rogers Centre is a much more hitter-friendly environment, which should aid Rodriguez in this spot.

It’s not a bad matchup, either. Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Shane Bieber struggled mightily when facing right-handed bats this year, allowing an ISO nearing .300. He’s giving up a lot of power.

Bieber has conceded at least one homer in five of his past six starts. The lone exception was in Game 3 against the Yankees, when he pitched so poorly that he didn’t last three innings.

One of those homers came off the bat of Rodriguez, who took Bieber deep in his first at-bat against him this series.

Blue Jays home run pick

Daulton Varsho (+550 at BetMGM)

Daulton Varsho has hit two homers during Toronto’s playoff run, but both date back to Game 2 against New York. However, there are signs he’s close to homering again.

He has hit the ball 340+ feet four times in this series, including a 350-footer with a 109 MPH exit velocity the last time he faced George Kirby. That ball did everything but leave the park, hitting the top of the wall and falling just short of a homer.

There’s reason to believe Varsho will test Kirby again. He posted a whopping .359 ISO vs. right-handed pitchers this year, while Kirby allowed more power to left-handed bats like Varsho.

Varsho also recorded an ISO of .265 or higher vs. five of the six pitches Kirby throws at least 3% of the time, giving the righty few ways to confidently attack him.

More than 39% of Varsho’s hits against righties left the ballpark this season. If he gets a pitch he likes, he’ll be swinging for the fences.
