HR picks for July 3
Rhys Hoskins (+450 at DraftKings)
Rhys Hoskins has always been a guy with power. While he’s only up to 12 long balls so far this season for the Milwaukee Brewers, there’s reason to believe that Hoskins could smack No. 13 this evening against the New York Mets.
New York sends David Peterson to the hill, and Hoskins has always enjoyed facing him. He’s 7-for-16 lifetime with a pair of home runs against the left-hander. Four of Hoskins’ bombs in 2025 have been off southpaws. He’s also batting .273 on the road with five homers.
Hoskins hasn’t homered in six games, but given this matchup, he should be feeling uber-confident.
Kyle Stowers (+550 at DraftKings)
Kyle Stowers doesn’t get talked about a lot because he plays on a Miami Marlins team that not many people care about outside the state of Florida. However, he’s a very solid player and he’s putting up impressive numbers in 2025, hitting .286 with 15 home runs and 45 RBI.
The slugger has homered in back-to-back games in this series with the Minnesota Twins and has left the yard in four of his previous six contests. He’s scorching hot at the moment. Also, he’ll face David Festa tonight, who's allowed six bombs in only seven appearances this season.
Although a third straight game going yard feels like a stretch, it’s very much possible for Stowers. All 15 of his long balls have come against right-handed hurlers, too.
Jo Adell (+290 at DraftKings)
Jo Adell was a highly-regarded prospect before making his MLB debut. While he’s struggled to really find his best in the show, 2025 seems to be Adell’s coming-out party. He’s batting .243 with 18 home runs — just two off his career high from last year and we’re not even at the All-Star break.
The 26-year-old has two long balls in his last six games and he’s smacked 14 bombs off righties. The Atlanta Braves send Elder to the mound tonight, who sports a 2-5 record and 5.82 ERA. Things aren’t going well for him. Elder has also given up 14 home runs in just 13 starts.
Right-handed hitters have taken Elder deep nine times and he’s also allowed 12 long balls in night games. Adell’s eyes should light up against a guy who's struggling to get outs and keep opponents in the ballpark.
