HR picks for June 19
Cody Bellinger (+350 at DraftKings)
Cody Bellinger hasn’t been as impactful as the New York Yankees would’ve hoped after pulling off a blockbuster trade for him in the offseason, but he still sits with 10 homers on the season.
Regardless, Bellinger is a guy who has serious power when he gets hold of one. He just went deep on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Angels, and I’m eyeing him to leave the yard again in the rubber match this afternoon. While Bellinger is only 4-for-25 lifetime against Tyler Anderson, two of those hits have been bombs.
Bellinger is batting .319 against left-handed pitchers with two homers. Don’t be surprised if he puts one in the short bleachers in right at Yankee Stadium in today’s series finale.
Mike Yastrzemski (+450 at DraftKings)
Mike Yastrzemski is heating up in June, hitting .351 so far. He’s raised his average to .262, and although Yaz only has five home runs on the year, there’s reason to believe he could hit No. 6 today against the Cleveland Guardians.
The San Francisco Giants face righty Gavin Williams, and Yastrzemski is 2-for-3 lifetime vs. him with a homer. Yaz has three bombs at home, and four of his five long balls are off right-handed pitchers. The 34-year-old is tearing the cover off the baseball at the moment, smacking seven hits across his last three contests.
He has an eight-game hitting streak right now, and I have no doubts he’ll stay hot in the rubber match.
Trea Turner (+750 at DraftKings)
To round out today’s MLB picks, I’m pinpointing Trea Turner, who is on a roll. He’s homered in two of his last three games and will be looking to smack his third of the series against the Miami Marlins in the finale tonight. The shortstop is up to nine bombs for 2025 while hitting .304.
Turner will be loving this matchup, too. The Fish send Edward Cabrera to the hill, and Turner is 3-for-7 lifetime against him with a double. Six of Turner’s home runs are off righties, and all nine of his bombs are on the road.
A lot is going in Turner’s favor heading into the rubber match. No. 10 may be coming as the Philadelphia Phillies seek to take three out of four in this series with an NL East counterpart.
