HR picks for July 12

Cal Raleigh (+250 at DraftKings)

What a season for Cal Raleigh. The Seattle Mariners catcher leads the big leagues in home runs, already slugging 38. That’s far above his career-high and we’re not even at the All-Star break. He’s absolutely terrorizing baseballs and smacked two bombs in a big win over the Detroit Tigers on Friday night.

At this point, it doesn’t really matter who is on the mound. Raleigh has never collected a hit against Tigers starter Casey Mize, but he’s only had two at-bats. The slugger has gone deep 22 times off right-handed hurlers though and Mize has given up 11 home runs in 15 starts this season.

Raleigh may be hitting just .152 in July, but he’s already left the yard five times this month. He has shown the ability to go deep at any given moment and it wouldn’t surprise me if he put another one in the bleachers this afternoon.

Bo Bichette (+380 at DraftKings)

Bo Bichette is a very consistent hitter, batting .281 this year with 12 home runs. He’s got pop in his bat and while 2025 may not be his best season from a power standpoint, Bichette does have all the ability to smack long balls.

While Bichette has only one homer in July, he’s collected five hits across the last two games. That includes a pair of doubles. It does feel like the 27-year-old is on the doorstep of taking that up a level and leaving the yard. He’s really swinging the bat well at the moment.

Tonight’s matchup will see him face Athletics starter Jacob Lopez. He’s 1-for-5 lifetime against Lopez, who has allowed seven bombs to right-handed hitters this season.

Kyle Schwarber (+230 at DraftKings)

I’m just riding the trends here with Kyle Schwarber, but how could you not? The Philadelphia Phillies star has gone deep in three straight games. Yes, you read that correctly. In fact, he’s left the ballpark five times in July and we’re not even at the mid-way mark of the month. Schwarber is now up to 30 HRs.

Well, his eyes are also going to light up with today’s matchup. The San Diego Padres send Yu Darvish to the mound and Schwarber is 5-for-14 lifetime with two home runs versus the Japanese veteran. Don’t get me wrong, Darvish is nasty, but Schwarber is also one of the best power hitters in the sport.

Plus, Darvish is still getting his feet under him. This is only his second start since returning from the IL. A fourth game in a row with a homer for Schwarber? Don’t count it out. The track record of success against Darvish is evident.
