Thursday's MLB slate is packed with power-hitting potential, making it an ideal day for home run prop bets.

Among the top sluggers to watch is Aaron Judge, who leads the majors with 24 home runs and is the current favorite to finish the season as the home run leader.

Find out why I'm backing the New York Yankee slugger as part of my trio of MLB player props for Thursday, June 5.

HR picks for June 5

Marcell Ozuna (+450 at DraftKings)

Marcell Ozuna has big-time power, and he’s shown that over the years. The veteran has clubbed 35+ homers in back-to-back seasons, and although he has just 10 long balls so far, he has a chance to leave the ballpark today.

The Arizona Diamondbacks throw the struggling Brandon Pfaadt at the Atlanta Braves today. Pfaadt has an ERA over five, and he’s given up 12 homers in total this season. 11 of those are on the road, and the Braves host the D-Backs in this contest.

Also, Ozuna is 4 for 8 lifetime against Pfaadt with a long ball, and five of his home runs have been at Truist Park. Eight of his bombs are versus right-handed hurlers as well.

Manny Machado (+425 at DraftKings)

Manny Machado is having a wonderful season for the San Diego Padres, batting .314 with seven home runs and 29 RBIs. While the power numbers aren’t outstanding, it’s common knowledge that Machado can go deep at any given moment. He has a lot of pop in his bat.

The veteran has one bomb in his last four games, and he’ll face Robbie Ray today. Machado is just 3 for 13 against Ray, but two of those hits have left the yard. The lefty has allowed five homers, and four of them are against right-handed batters.

Machado swings it extremely well against southpaws, too. He’s batting .317 with lefties on the hill, and he’s slugged five of his bombs off them. Ray is a tough matchup, but there’s a clear track record of success here.

Aaron Judge (+190 at DraftKings)

It’s been a few days since I've included Aaron Judge in my picks. His odds are still incredibly low, which isn’t a surprise. After all, the reigning AL MVP has 21 home runs already while hitting just under .400.

He’s unstoppable offensively. Judge has three long balls in his last five appearances, and tonight’s matchup plays in his favor.

The New York Yankees’ lineup will face Cleveland Guardians starter Slade Cecconi, who has a 5.28 ERA. He’s surrendered five homers in only three outings, and Judge is 1 for 1 against him with — you guessed it — a HR.

Fourteen of his bombs are against righties, and Judge has 10 long balls at Yankee Stadium.

  1. Kyle Schwarber, Phillies
  2. Jac Caglianone, Royals
  3. Aaron Judge, Yankees
