MLB Home Run Props, Picks & Odds Today for May 22: Betting on a Bregman Bomb

Alex Bregman gets a good matchup with Cade Povich as he looks to snap a six-game homerless drought. Plus, our MLB betting picks also target a tilt at Coors Field for one play, while picking on the Tigers' Jack Flaherty in another.

Alex Bregman is facing a home run-prone pitcher tonight, and I’ll explain in my MLB player props analysis why he could go deep at Fenway Park in this series opener against the Baltimore Orioles.

Kyle Schwarber and Jose Ramirez will also be included in my home run picks for May 22.

HR picks for May 22

Alex Bregman 1+ home runs (+550 at DraftKings)

Alex Bregman has been all the Red Sox could’ve asked for and more since signing with the ball club in free agency. He’s hitting .297 with 11 home runs and 35 RBI in 50 contests and will face the Orioles’ Cade Povich tonight.

Bregman is just 1-for-5 off Povich lifetime, but the third baseman is raking against left-handed pitchers. He has a .364 average with southpaws on the mound.

Although just one of his homers is against lefties, it’s hard to ignore his success here.

Povich has already allowed eight bombs this season. He hasn’t gone deep in six games, but I could see Bregman taking Povich yard in tonight’s matchup.

Kyle Schwarber 1+ home runs (+205 at DraftKings)

As you can see by how low Kyle Schwarber’s odds are, he’s an absolute force at the dish on basically a daily basis.

The slugger just smacked homer No. 300 of his career, which is an impressive milestone in and of itself. Schwarber is also tied for the MLB lead in bombs with 17 alongside Shohei Ohtani.

The veteran has two long balls in his last three games, both against the Colorado Rockies. They will send the struggling German Marquez to the bump today for the rubber match.

Marquez has an ERA over 8.00 and Schwarber is 6-for-17 lifetime against him with two home runs.

Nine of Schwarber’s homers are on the road, and the elevation in Denver certainly helps. Marquez has given up four bombs this season as well. Schwarber could leave Coors Field this afternoon.

Jose Ramirez 1+ home runs (+500 at DraftKings)

Jose Ramirez has been a pillar for the Cleveland Guardians for years, and despite his size, he has a ton of power.

The slugger smacked 39 home runs last year, which matched a career high. As for 2025, he’s gone deep nine times so far while batting an impressive .304.

The 32-year-old left the yard in three straight games last week, and while he hasn’t hit a homer since then, Ramirez will like tonight’s matchup. The Detroit Tigers put their trust in Jack Flaherty, who has given up two bombs in 20 at-bats to Ramirez.

Seven of Ramirez’s long balls are off right-handed hurlers, and he’s hitting .347 in night games with eight bombs. Flaherty is also having trouble with the homer, surrendering 10 in only nine starts.

  1. Aaron Judge, Yankees
  2. Kyle Schwarber, Phillies
  3. Fernando Tatis, Jr., Padres
