The San Francisco Giants have lost major ground in the NL Wildcard race after five straight losses, but they’ll look to turn the corner tonight against an Atlanta Braves team that’s had its own struggles this year.

San Francisco is coming off a weekend sweep at the hands of the Toronto Blue Jays, but my Giants vs. Braves predictions point to a productive outing for one of the visitors’ key hitters here.

Read on for my MLB picks and betting tips for this July 21 battle.

Giants vs Braves prediction

My Giants vs Braves best bet: Willy Adames Over 1.5 total bases (+125 at Caesars)

The San Francisco Giants left Toronto with nothing to show for their three-game stop, but it’s not as if the bats went ice cold north of the border. The Giants fell short despite racking up 27 hits in that series.

Willy Adames came through with three of those hits, crushing a pair of homers on Saturday, and I’m backing the San Fran shortstop to do more damage tonight with the Over on 1.5 bases against the Atlanta Braves, who are just 25-24 at home this year.

Adames boasts a .291 batting average this month — a big bounceback after a .216 mark in June — and 44 of his 81 hits have come on the road this season.

He’s also the one Giant with a significant sample size against Atlanta starter Bryce Elder. Adames has been hot-and-cold in that head-to-head matchup, with a 3-for-13 record, but he cracked the code against Elder last season with a pair of dingers while playing for the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Braves righty has given up 8+ hits in each of his last four starts, and a solid outing against the Oakland A’s on July 9 can’t paper over his 8.25 ERA in June.

Adames has also shown flashes of the power to cash this prop with one swing. His tally of 14 home runs ranks joint-first on the team, and I’m sticking with a bat that’s been hot in July.

Caesars QuickPick: Our Giants vs Braves same-game parlay (SGP)

Willy Adames Over 1.5 total bases

Willy Adames Over 0.5 RBI

Under 9.5

I’m doubling down on Adames by taking him to drive in a run today too. He’s thumped 14 of his 50 RBIs during this month, and only Wilmer Flores sits ahead of Adames for the Giants this season in that category.

The Under is an attractive option too. It’s 7-2-1 in the past 10 meetings between these teams, and the Braves have cashed the Team Total Under in 25 of their last 40 contests at Truist Park.

Though both Elder and Giants starter Hayden Birdsong have put up some rough numbers lately, I’ll ride the season-long trend with these ballclubs.
