Starting pitchers

Logan Webb (7-3, 2.84 ERA): You may not know this, but Webb is arguably the hottest pitcher going in baseball at the moment. The right-hander hasn’t allowed more than two earned runs in a start since May 5, recording eight quality starts in the process.

Huascar Ynoa (4-3, 2.89 ERA): Ynoa has picked up right where he left off since coming off the IL. The right-hander has allowed three runs on seven hits while striking out 13 in 11 1-3 innings of work over two starts since rejoining the Braves rotation.

Moneyline pick

The Braves bounced back from their mini-slump by taking Game 1 of this series 6-5. The win was fueled by a four-run seventh inning in a rare collapse by the Giants bullpen.

But if there is a team that can respond to a loss like that it’s San Francisco. The Giants are one of the most balanced clubs in baseball. They hit for average, they hit for power, they have excellent starting pitching, and despite Friday’s choke job, a strong bullpen.

Even with the loss, the Giants have won 14 of their last 18 and now hand the ball to the sizzling Webb. He's pitching to a 1.63 ERA and is limiting opponents to a .198 batting average over his last 12 starts and books are starting to figure that out, listing him as a -130 road favorite in this one.

The Braves are pretty hot themselves, winners of 10 of their last 12 games but this will be Ynoa’s toughest test since coming off the IL. The Giants rank ninth in batting average, sixth in OPS, and third in home runs when facing right-handers this season.

The price is right to back the Giants to bounce back in this one.

PREDICTION: Giants (-130)

Over/Under pick

Game 1 was trending toward the Under before a late-inning outburst by the Braves and with a total of 9 for this matchup, we like this one to be low-scoring all the way through this time.

We’ve already spoken about how Webb can be successful in this matchup, and he is supported by a bullpen that ranks third in ERA, first in WHIP, and second in opponent batting average. Performances like last night are not usual for this team.

On the other side is Ynoa, who has continued his strong season since recovering from a hand injury. The right-hander is pitching to a 2.89 ERA, a 1.00 WHIP, and is limiting opponents to a .208 batting average this season. Ynoa is also backed by a solid 'pen that has been much better recently, ranking 10th in ERA and fourth in WHIP over their last 30 days.

This should be another high-intensity, close game, making the Under a solid bet here.

PREDICTION: Under 9 (-110)
