The Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox will play the rubber match of their three-game series at Fenway Park this afternoon.

The first two meetings both featured seven runs or less, but a suspect pitching matchup could make this one a high-scoring thriller. My Dodgers vs. Red Sox predictions and MLB picks for Sunday, July 27 expect Shohei Ohtani to lead the way.

Dodgers vs Red Sox prediction

My Dodgers vs Red Sox best bet: Shohei Ohtani Over 0.5 RBI (-107 at Caesars)

The Los Angeles Dodgers dropped the second game of their series against the Boston Red Sox by a score of 4-2 on Saturday, but it was business as usual for Shohei Ohtani

The National League’s home run leader went yard for the sixth time in his last seven games, and I’m expecting another big afternoon out of Shohei with at least one RBI.

Ohtani has collected 11 RBI in eight games since returning from the All-Star break, tied for the second-most among all players in the NL behind only Philadelphia’s Kyle Schwarber (15). The Dodgers star has also driven in at least one run in six of his last seven outings.

The Red Sox will send Walker Buehler to the mound today in what should be a favorable matchup for Ohtani and the Dodgers. Buehler has allowed 3+ earned runs in seven of his last eight starts and carries a lofty 5.72 ERA along with a 1.52 WHIP this season.

Under 12.5

I’ll substitute my best bet for an Ohtani home run in this SGP. He can make it seven dingers in his last eight games against Buehler, who’s given up 17 home runs in 17 starts this year.

Both teams are sending struggling starters to the mound this afternoon, but I’m backing the Dodgers on the moneyline due to their edge at the plate.

L.A. is averaging 5.27 runs per game, tied with Chicago for the best mark in the majors, while Boston has struggled to produce much offense in the early stages of the second half.

The Red Sox have scored just 25 runs since the All-Star Game, which ranks second-last in the MLB ahead of only the Tigers (16). That should help keep this game Under 12.5.
