It’s a heavyweight matchup in the NLDS tonight as the Los Angeles Dodgers head to Citizens Bank Park to face the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 1.

I’ve done my research to find the best MLB picks and player props for this matchup, with Shohei Ohtani and Cristopher Sanchez going to battle on the mound.

Dodgers vs Phillies player prop picks

Prop #1: Shohei Ohtani Under 1.5 walks allowed

-129 at Caesars

Shohei Ohtani will make his pitching postseason debut this evening when he toes the mound in Philly, and I’m expecting pure dominance from the big right-hander. Ohtani was solid in the regular season in 47 innings of work, compiling a 2.87 ERA. He also walked just nine hitters.

The Japanese superstar has pinpoint command, and he’s allowed Under 1.5 walks in three consecutive starts. To be honest, it’s rare for Ohtani to surrender even two free passes. He consistently pounds the strike zone and attacks hitters.

Ohtani faced the Philadelphia Phillies on September 16, throwing five scoreless innings. He also gave up just one walk in that outing. Ohtani will bring his best stuff in Game 1.

Prop #2: Teoscar Hernandez anytime HR

+500 at Caesars

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ best hitter in the Wild Card Series was definitely Teoscar Hernandez, who helped propel his squad to a huge 10-5 victory in Game 1 against the Cincinnati Reds as he smacked a pair of home runs. He comes into the NLDS opener hot, and the matchup on the mound heavily plays in Hernandez’s favor.

He’ll face Cristopher Sanchez, who he’s 5-for-12 against with two round-trippers. Although the slugger only has six bombs off left-handed pitchers in 2025, it’s hard to ignore the impressive track record here.

Keep in mind, Hernandez is also a very dangerous power hitter. After all, he did leave the yard 25 times in the regular season. Sanchez will be wary pitching to Hernandez, but one pitch left in the wrong area of the strike zone could be punished.

Prop #3: Cristopher Sanchez Over 5.5 hits allowed

+120 at Caesars

Don’t get me wrong, Sanchez is a fantastic pitcher who should’ve been an All-Star in ‘25. He compiled a 13-5 record and 2.50 ERA. However, the southpaw has struggled immensely against the mighty Dodgers. In two starts during the season, he posted a 5.68 ERA.

The Dodgers scored eight runs off Sanchez in just 12.2 innings and also banged out 13 hits. While Sanchez doesn’t typically give up a ton of hits in any particular outing, he’s cashed the Over in hits surrendered in both appearances versus Los Angeles, giving up seven and six hits, respectively.

L.A. was firing on all cylinders in the Wild Card, and they will make some noise against Sanchez, who will be forced to battle and potentially pitch out of jams tonight.
