My Diamondbacks vs Dodgers best bet: Over 9.5 (-110 at Caesars)
The atmosphere at Chavez Ravine is ripe for runs on Monday with temperatures in the 70s and winds of 8-to-11 mph blowing out to right-center field.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have been prone to high-scoring games at home, going 10-1 O/U across their last 11 games at Dodger Stadium.
Brandon Pfaadt takes the mound for the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks. The 26-year-old’s 3.73 ERA is encouraging, but his 5.63 xERA and 4.41 FIP indicate regression.
The biggest concern with the righty is he allows too much hard contact, ranking in the 11th percentile in average exit velocity and the 26th percentile in barrel rate.
L.A. is 22-10 against right-handed starters this year and has a 129 wRC+ (fourth) and .357 wOBA (second) against them since May 1. Landon Knack gets the nod for the home team, and he's been battered around to the tune of a 5.89 ERA and 4.98 xERA.
Similarly to his counterpart, Knack also allows a worrisome amount of hard contact (third percentile average exit velocity and hard-hit rate, 19th percentile barrel rate).
Arizona has been positively raking, leading the Majors in wRC+ (135) and wOBA (.371) against RHP since the start of May.
When things make it to the bullpen, Arizona has been burned in relief (5.34 ERA) while L.A.’s relievers are taxed after its last four starting pitchers averaged 4 1/3 frames.
The Dodgers have been playing to the Over at home, and they’ll need to give a strong reason to think otherwise before expectations change.
