Cubs vs Brewers player prop picks

Prop #1: Shota Imanaga Under 3.5 strikeouts

-139 at Caesars

The Chicago Cubs hand the ball to left-hander Shota Imanaga, who should serve as a strong fade candidate. His analytics were poor in 2025, as the southpaw finished in the 37th percentile in expected ERA (xERA), 11th percentile in average exit velocity, sixth percentile in barrel rate, and 24th percentile in hard-hit rate.

If Imanaga is chased early, it's unlikely he generates more than three strikeouts. This season, he ranked in the 44th percentile in whiff rate and 34th percentile in strikeout rate.

He pitched just four innings in his Wild Card start against the Padres, recording three strikeouts.

Prop #2: William Contreras to hit a home run

+400 at Caesars

Continuing the fade of Imanaga, William Contreras of the Milwaukee Brewers has dominated the left-hander. Through 11 plate appearances, Contreras boasts a .300 batting average, .900 slugging percentage, and two home runs.

His analytics across those plate appearances support that these results were not flukes, as Contreras owns a .391 expected batting average (xBA) and .874 expected slugging percentage (xSLG). He also performed well in Game 1 of this series, going 2-for-5 with a double and a single.

This season, Contreras finished in the top quarter of the league in average exit velocity, hard-hit rate, and squared-up percentage.

Prop #3: Blake Perkins Over 0.5 hits

-137 at Caesars

Another Brewers hitter to consider backing is Blake Perkins. He earned a start against left-hander Matthew Boyd in Game 1 and delivered, going 2-for-4 with a double and a single.

Milwaukee should have no hesitation starting him again in another lefty matchup. Perkins has also fared extremely well against Imanaga.

Through four plate appearances against the southpaw, Perkins is 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run.
