The Toronto Blue Jays go for the series win in Washington this afternoon, sending Trey Yesavage to the mound against Washington Nationals right-hander Zack Littell.

Toronto’s offense has leaned on a few hot bats, and Ernie Clement keeps producing, headlining my card in the finale.

Read on for my Blue Jays vs. Nationals predictions and MLB picks for this Wednesday, July 29 matchup.

Blue Jays vs Nationals predictions

Blue Jays vs Nationals best bet: Ernie Clement Over 1.5 total bases (+115)

I’m turning to Ernie Clement, who has cashed total bases props for me all season.

It’s been a revolving door of Toronto’s three hot hitters (Clement, George Springer and Kazuma Okamoto), but I’m most confident in Ernie against Washington Nationals starter Zack Littell.

Littell is vulnerable in a lot of ways, from hits (9.3 H/9) to homers (2.2 HR/9), but above all, his stuff is weak. The righty is mostly a junk-baller who throws his slider 29% of the time, and while it’s his best pitch (+5 run value), Clement happens to be Toronto’s best slider hitter, batting .365 with a .508 slugging mark against it.

Ernie is also locked in, with a hit in four straight games and three doubles in that span. I like his profile so much here that I’d play this until -110.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Ernie Clement ranks fourth in MLB with 26 doubles. All he needs is a ground ball down the line to cash this prop for the fourth time in five days.

Blue Jays vs Nationals same-game parlay (SGP)

For the SGP, I’m betting on a get-right day for Toronto’s offense against Zack Littell. Kazuma Okamoto Over 1.5 total bases leads the way, tapping into the same fastball edge as my home run pick.

I’ll add the Toronto Blue Jays moneyline, with Trey Yesavage and his strong underlying numbers giving Toronto the pitching edge, and finish with over 9.5 total runs, banking on Littell’s weak stuff and a warm afternoon at Nationals Park.

Blue Jays vs Nationals home run pick: Kazuma Okamoto (+245)

Okamoto crushed a pinch-hit home run yesterday, which tells me he’s back on one of his power crazes. He’s now homered twice in the last five games, and I love his matchup against Littell, who ranks third in the majors with 25 home runs allowed.

For the Clement prop, I looked at how he’d beat Littell’s best pitch. For Okamoto, I’m counting on him destroying Littell’s worst one, the four-seam fastball.

Littell has one of baseball’s worst heaters (-12 run value), with opponents slugging .663 against it, and Okamoto is Toronto’s best fastball hitter (+12 run value, .575 SLG) who has crushed 16 of his 24 homers on heaters

I like this bet down to +230.

Blue Jays vs Nationals trend

The Nationals are just 9-12 straight up in Zack Littell’s starts this season, a big reason I like the Blue Jays on the moneyline. Find more MLB betting trends for Blue Jays vs. Nationals.
