The Houston Astros and New York Yankees close out their three-game series with the rubber match this afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

Carlos Correa has notched multiple hits in each of the first two meetings and four straight contests overall, so my Astros vs. Yankees predictions and MLB picks are backing the Houston star to have yet another productive day on Sunday, August 10.

Astros vs Yankees prediction

Astros vs Yankees best bet: Carlos Correa Over 1.5 total bases (+140)

The Houston Astros fell by a score of 5-4 to the New York Yankees on Saturday, but Carlos Correa had another two hits and an RBI. Sound familiar?

The infielder has recorded multiple hits in four straight games, plus an RBI in each of his last three outings. I backed him to pick up 2+ total bases on Saturday, and we’re getting an even better price on that prop this afternoon at +140.

Correa has recorded 2+ total bases in six of his last seven games while hitting an absurd .406 since rejoining the Astros at the trade deadline. He’s been feasting on left-handed pitching with an .847 OPS this season (.695 vs. RHP), and I like today’s matchup against Yankees starter Max Fried.

The southpaw sports a solid 2.78 ERA, though he hasn’t looked all that great over the last month. Fried has given up 3+ earned runs in five of his last six starts and looked rough against the Rangers on Monday after allowing eight hits and four runs over just five innings.

Caesars QuickPick: Our Astros vs Yankees same-game parlay (SGP)

Correa is certainly swinging a hot bat, but he hasn’t been carrying the Astros offense all on his own.

Jose Altuve has also been on fire with 2+ total bases in three of his last four games and five RBI over that span. Altuve has had the Yankees’ number in this series, and I think that trend continues in the finale.

I’ve talked about Fried’s struggles on the mound, but Jason Alexander has been subpar for Houston as well, carrying a huge 5.97 ERA this season. The Over is also 5-0 in Houston’s last five and 6-3 in New York’s last nine games.
