Peer-to-peer exchange and prediction market app Novig reached a partnership with LIV Golf for the first major of the year.

Key Takeaways

  • Novig will give away 500,000 in cash as part of a competition for customers.

  • The partnership made Novig the first prediction platform to host a live activation at a professional golf event.

  • New social content focused on LIV golfers will be produced

The agreement reached by Novig and LIV Golf will result in what a company announcement called a “first-of-its-kind player integration” during the spring major championship season.

Through the partnership, Novig is the first sports trading platform to sponsor a live activation at a professional golf event. Novig’s company logo will also be emblazoned on the left shirt sleeve of seven LIV Golf players competing at Augusta National.

Those players include: Fireballs GC captain Sergio Garcia, Legion XIII’s Tyrrell Hatton, 4Aces GC captain Dustin Johnson, Legion XIII’s Tom McKibbin, Legion XIII captain Jon Rahm, Southern Guards GC’s Charl Schwartzel, and Ripper GC captain Cameron Smith.

Additionally, the partnership will inspire social projects across LIV Golf, including a new series and player-focused content that will be published before major tournaments.

“This collaboration demonstrates how we’re evolving traditional partnership models and creating new ways for brands to connect with the broader golf ecosystem,” said Chad Biggs, EVP of global sponsorship and activation at LIV Golf. “Our league is constantly evaluating how we can engage partners across our global calendar and deliver the best experience for our players and fans.”

Novig goes all in

Prediction markets allow customers to buy and sell contracts with “Yes” and “No” outcomes related to events in the world of sports.

To celebrate the partnership and the first major of the 2026 season, Novig introduced an array of new trading markets for consumers. An extra emphasis was placed on LIV Golf players, who compete against the stars of the PGA Tour.

Novig also announced the creation of a special contest with 500,000 Novig cash available to be split in a prize pool. Fans can enter the contest once per day by predicting the tournament winner.

Winning traders will receive a share of the prize pool, along with the first-ever Novig Blue Blazer in person from a LIV Golf member, in addition to exclusive benefits. The contest is the largest in the company’s history.

“Novig is a place where winners are welcome – and LIV Golf’s roster is filled with winners, including former champions of the most prestigious tournament in golf – so this partnership was a natural fit," said Jacob Fortinsky, co-founder and CEO of Novig. “Having our brand on the sleeve of players who have already succeeded on the sport’s biggest stages puts Novig exactly where it should be: at the center of winning moments.”

Capitalizing on an opportunity

Novig is one of several prediction platforms that are looking to capitalize on the building momentum in the industry.

Spurred by the rise of sports event contracts, prediction outlets have emerged as alternatives to legal sports betting, although they are not classified as gambling by federal regulators. Novig’s announcement said that its platform offers a “transparent and fan-focused” substitute for sportsbooks by getting rid of fees and allowing customers to trade contracts with other users.
