Fanatics is expanding its bet protection program ahead of the NFL season.
Key Takeaways
- “Forward Progress Protection” ensures player prop totals aren’t hurt by negative yards.
- Fanatics’ “Fair Play” bet protection promotion has saved more than half a million bets since 2024.
- An integrated app, “NFL Squad Bets,” and a bevy of promotions and contests highlight the operator’s football season upgrades.
The online sportsbook, casino, and prediction market operator announced a bevy of new features and products Friday, including upgrades to its “Fair Play MAX” program.
Fanatics is launching “Forward Progress Protection” to help customers when a player surpasses his prop total but receives negative yards. For example, a quarterback's rushing total won't be reduced by a late-game kneel.
“Overs will mean over this NFL season at Fanatics Sports & Casino,” the operator said in the release. “Last season, there were 115 qualifying instances where negative yardage impacted an over.”
This builds on Fanatics' “Fair Play Injury Protection” program, which has saved more than half a million bets since launching in September 2024. The feature, which ensures NFL prop wagers are refunded when a player is injured in the first half of a game, protected nearly 200,000 NFL bets last season, the operator said.
Fanatics will again be offering first half injury protection insurance on player prop bets. In addition, via a Fair Play MAX gameday token, customers have the option of adding second half injury protection for one player prop bet each day.
The NFL season kicks off Sept. 9.

New products
Fanatics is also changing how it prices several NFL markets, building an in-house model to offer real-time NFL pricing that reflects injury news and roster changes for touchdown scorer props and season futures.
The operator is also introducing NFL “Squad Bets.” Customers can select between two and eight players, from quarterback to backup tight end, and choose a line for the squad to reach. Higher lines come with higher payouts, and one player's big game can carry the entire team.
Fanatics will offer live tracking and cash-out options with this feature. Fair Play MAX will be included as well.
Better connection
Fanatics announced a nationwide app integration Wednesday that combines its sportsbook, casino, and markets products on a single platform based on what’s available in each jurisdiction.
“Fanatics Sports & Casino has been working to reward every bet, trade, and play for football fans this season,” the company said.
This upgrade also helps connect the FanCash ecosystem, allowing users to receive currency back on every bet and trade, win or lose. Customers can redeem their FanCash – which is also available through its prediction market offering – in more than 20 ways across Fanatics' apparel, memorabilia, and gaming offerings.
“No other operator can connect a Sunday parlay, trade, or spin to an official game-day jersey, signed rookie cards, vintage Mitchell & Ness and beyond, and that difference is the foundation of the new app,” Fanatics said.
Promo and contest opportunities
Customers can use the Fanatics promo to get a $350 bonus for betting $20 and up to $1,000 matched in FanCash.
For the first week of NFL season, new and existing customers receive a 100% profit boost on every game in the “Double Your Winnings” promotion.
Fanatics is also running a new weekly contest called “Triple Touchdown Jackpot.” Customers can enter by placing a Week 1 anytime touchdown parlay at odds of -2,000 or greater with a minimum $5 bet for a chance to win a share of $250,000 in FanCash.
“Triple Touchdown Jackpot will be supported by leaderboard tracking journey, scorer content and NFL Squad Bet pre-packs,” Fanatics said.
There is also a free-to-play NFL Survivor Pool for $1 million in FanCash.
