More than 1,600 of the remaining 2,900 Circa Survivor entries were eliminated Sunday as the Los Angeles Rams and Indianapolis Colts suffered division losses.

A couple of massive blows were dealt to the Circa Sports Survivor Contest in Week 6.

There were 2,908 entries remaining in the contest entering the week, but more than 55% were eliminated Sunday with the losses dealt to the Los Angeles Rams and Indianapolis Colts.

Key Takeaways
  • Rams were most-selected team of Week 6 with 901 entries.
  • Colts’ loss to Titans eliminates more than 700 entries.
  • One contestant failed to enter their selection in time for the Grandissimo contest.

The Rams were the most-selected team this week, as 901 entries, or 31% of the remaining field, put their trust in the 2-3 outfit.

However, the Rams trailed the Arizona Cardinals for much of the second half and lost 18-16 on a last-second field goal.

The Colts closed as -11.5 favorites against the Titans and therefore seemed like a fairly safe pick, but that wasn’t the case.

More than 700 entrants – 703 to be exact – selected the Colts as their team in Week 6. That accounted for nearly one quarter of this week’s selections, with 703 of 2,908 entries (24.2%) selecting the big home favorites.

Things were looking good for the Colts at halftime as Indianapolis held a 13-0 lead at home over the winless Titans. However, Tennessee scored the next 20 points, including a blocked punt for a touchdown in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter.

Jonathan Taylor’s touchdown with 5:32 remaining was the last time the Colts would get on the board, although the Titans gave their divisional rivals a few final chances.

Indianapolis failed to convert on 4th and 17 in the final minutes, and even got the ball back for one last Hail Mary try. The Colts couldn’t come down with the pass either time, giving Tennessee its first win of the season.

Each entry had an implied value of $8,603 entering this week, and that will increase quite a bit with more than half of the field eliminated.

Grandissimo down to 12 entries

The Circa Sports Grandissimo also lost a few of its remaining 15 entrants this week. There were six entries on the Rams, and two picks on the Colts, but the big story is that one of the final participants failed to enter a pick in time.

The Grandissimo contest came with a $100,000 entry fee for a shot at the $7.7-million grand prize. At this point in the season, each remaining entry carried an implied value of $550,000.

The alleged contestant pled his case on social media on Saturday night.

The contestant also claimed the pick was submitted Friday, as were the selections for the Survivor and Circa Millions contests.

As of Friday evening, four Grandissimo contestants made it through to Week 7 on the New England Patriots' victory over the New York Jets. One pick each were on the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers.
