Caesars Sportsbook revealed its year-end insights for 2025, including its most-bet events, most popular teams, and largest customer payouts.

Caesars’ biggest winner in 2025 claimed a $1.7-million prize, following a successful $715,000 wager on Terence Crawford (+140) to defeat Canelo Alvarez.

Key Takeaways

  • The five most-bet events of the year were all in the NFL.
  • Carlos Alcaraz drew a larger betting handle than any athlete.
  • One bettor won $574,000 from a six-leg $50 wager.

Caesars’ most popular event of the year was, to no surprise, the Super Bowl LIX showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.

All five of the most popular events in both tickets and handle were from the NFL. In addition to the Super Bowl, that included two AFC and one NFC Divisional game from the last postseason (Baltimore Ravens vs. Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams vs. Eagles, and Houston Texans vs. Chiefs), and a regular-season meeting between the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings.

Despite the NFL’s dominance in the top events, the most popular teams were all in the MLB: the Los Angeles Dodgers, the New York Yankees, and the Philadelphia Phillies. The teams that received the most support in terms of dollars were also the Dodgers, Yankees, and NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder.

Derrick Henry, Jahmyr Gibbs, and James Cook were the recipients of the most player prop bets across all sports. The largest handles all came from tennis, where Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Aryna Sabalenka formed the top three.

Excluding tennis, where there aren’t any team bets available, the individuals who were supported by the most money were Saquon Barkley, Henry, and Gibbs.

Big wins of 2025

At Caesars, bettors won the most money betting on the Eagles, New England Patriots, and Ohio State Buckeyes. The Eagles and Buckeyes won their respective championships last year, and the Patriots are hoping to do the same as they enter Week 18 tied for the best record in the NFL.

While the public found success backing those teams, that’s nothing compared to the exploits of a few customers who received massive payouts.

The $1.7-million prize for the Crawford fight was the biggest win of the year. Coincidentally, it was also the five-division champion’s final bout of his career.

The second-largest win was for $574,000, which came from a $50 six-leg parlay that included NFL touchdown scorers and MLB home run hitters.

The bronze medal was a $100,000 return on a 10-leg NFL touchdown parlay, on which the confident bettor risked $50,000.

WNBA betting boom

Caesars’ year-end reveal wasn’t only about wins, popularity, and profitability. It also showed that one sports league is quickly growing in popularity with consumers.

WNBA bets were up 48% year-over-year, according to the sportsbook’s insights. The handle also grew 22% as Caitlin Clark continued her pro career, the Las Vegas Aces won their third title in four years, and A’ja Wilson won her fourth MVP.
