Masters favorites
Scottie Scheffler (+450)
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler was clear and away the best golfer on the course over the weekend at the 2026 edition (65-68) and worked his way up the leaderboard to finish second and just one shot behind Rory McIlroy.
He's back atop the board in 2027 and will be eager to put the Green Jacket back on after Rory tied him with two Masters victories.
Rory McIlroy (+600)
Quickly coughing up a massive 36-hole lead and being down as many as three shots on Sunday didn't stop Rory McIlroy from becoming just the fourth golfer to successfully defend his Masters title.
He'll become the first golfer to win three straight Masters titles should he do it again in 2027.
What makes a "favorite" at Augusta?
Previous success matters at Augusta National more than almost any other course, and that's part of the reason you're seeing recent champions Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy atop the board. If you look at the rest of the top choices, almost all of them have either won or come very close in recent years.
Recent form is also critical. Much of the reason for Scheffler’s short odds is that he’s won seven of his last 17 worldwide starts dating back to last May. Many of the top choices also check a lot of the boxes when looking at Augusta National betting trends.
Tiger Woods 2027 Masters odds
| +20000 |
While it seemed like Tiger Woods might have been trending towards playing in the 2026 Masters after returning for the TGL Finals on March 24, the conversation quickly shifted following a car crash and DUI arrest on March 27.
That news was followed by Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley confirming that Tiger Woods would be absent for the 2026 Masters, and Woods announced a break from golf shortly after. His status for the 2027 Masters remains to be seen.
Masters betting trends at Augusta National
- Augusta National experience: 11 of the last 13 Masters winners played in 2+ Masters before their win. 10 of the last 13 winners had previously logged a Top-5 finish at the Masters.
- Best of the best: The last 13 winners ranked inside the OWGR Top 25.
- Great form: Nine of the last 13 winners had already logged a tournament win that season.
- Strong start: 12 of the last 13 winners were in the Top 11 after Round 1. The last 13 winners were in the Top 8 after Round 2.
- Ball-striking prowess: The last 14 winners gained at least 18 total strokes tee-to-green in the four events before their Masters win.
- Taking advantage: 15 of the last 17 winners ranked inside the Top 40 in Par-5 scoring the year of their victory.
Only two pre-tournament betting favorites or co-favorites have won the Masters since Tiger Woods won in 2005 as a +350 favorite. Charl Schwartzel was the biggest long shot to win when he surprised the golf world back in 2011. Most recent winners fall in the +1,000 to +3,000 range.
Another trend worth noting is the age of recent winners: Before Woods won in 2019 at age 43, the previous 13 champions were all under 40. That trend has continued since Dustin Johnson's win in 2020.
Masters past winner odds
The Masters has had its fair share of long-shot winners over the years. Zach Johnson (2007), Trevor Immelman (2008), and Angel Cabrera (2009) all had odds of +12500 or longer before pulling off impressive triumphs at Augusta National. It's worth noting that Cabrera was the only one of the three to crack the Top 10 again, finishing seventh in 2011 and second in 2013. Let's take a look at some recent Masters champions and their closing odds to win:
| Year | Golfer | Odds |

How to bet on the Masters
The Masters is the most bet golf event of the year, so naturally, many will be placing their first golf bets on the tournament. If that happens to be you, we've got you covered with our beginner's guide to how to bet on golf.
The most popular way to bet on golf is by simply picking the winner, which is referred to as an outright. There are plenty of other ways to wager on most golf betting sites, however, including top finishers, head-to-head matchups, and plenty of props.

Masters odds FAQs
Who has the best odds to win the 2027 Masters?
Scottie Scheffler has the best odds to win the 2027 Masters at +450. That's an implied probability of around 18%. Remember, odds are subject to change, so the favorite can shift as results and news move the market.
How often are 2027 Masters odds updated?
Books can adjust Masters futures at any time, especially after PGA Tour events, major news, or heavy betting action. On this page, the odds shown reflect the timestamp listed in the odds table. If you’re comparing prices, refresh the page and check the book’s current listing.
Do betting favorites usually win the Masters?
Not always. Masters outrights are a deep market, and even elite players win at a low rate in a single-event sample. Historically, many winners come from the short-to-mid range rather than the single shortest favorite. Use favorites as a starting point, then compare price to Augusta fit, current form, and alternative markets like Top 10/Top 20.
What’s the best way to bet the Masters besides outrights?
If you don’t want the volatility of an outright, consider Top 5/Top 10/Top 20 finisher bets or head-to-head matchups, which can better reflect form and course fit. Props can also offer angles without needing the winner.
Did Tiger Woods play in the 2026 Masters?
Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley confirmed Tiger Woods would not be playing in the Masters in 2026.
