The PGA Tour heads back to the Lone Star State this week for the Charles Schwab Challenge at the famed Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
While World No. 1 and Texan Scottie Scheffler is the betting favorite in the Charles Schwab Challenge odds, I’m looking further down the list with my top longshots and sleeper golf picks for this week’s event at Colonial.
Charles Schwab Challenge sleeper picks
- English to win outright (+4000 at FanDuel)
- Harman to win outright (+6000 at FanDuel)
- Novak to win outright (+6500 at FanDuel)

Charles Schwab Challenge sleeper predictions
Sleeper pick to win: Harris English
+4000 at FanDuel
The five-time PGA Tour winner had a Sunday-low 65 at the PGA Championship and heads to Colonial in top form. Harris English has gained true strokes across the board the past two weeks with a T11 at the Truist preceding his T2 at Quail Hollow.
I’m particularly encouraged by his ball striking. English ranks third in this field in true strokes gained tee-to-green and fifth on approach. His putter uncharacteristically let him down at times during the PGA Championship. Still, he gained +2.51 true strokes on the greens in the final round, so I’m anticipating him continuing his hot stretch in this watered-down field.
English has also flashed at Colonial with a pair of Top 5s earlier in his career and a T12 in the 2023 edition.
Sleeper pick to win: Brian Harman
+6000 at FanDuel
This is a nice number for Brian Harman at a track he’s played 12 times and has a trio of Top 10s. Of course, he’s also a three-time PGA Tour winner and has gained true strokes across the board dating back to his victory at the Valero in early April.
His calling card is his work on the greens, and he’s gained true strokes putting in his past five events to rank 11th in this field.
Sleeper pick to win: Andrew Novak
+6500 at FanDuel
Let’s write off the PGA Championship because blowing up on the Green Mile was commonplace last week, and Andrew Novak had been dialed in across his prior four events with a win in the Zurich team event, two more Top 5s, and a T17 in the Truist.
During the four-event run, he gained true strokes across the board, including ranking third in this field in true strokes gained tee-to-green and 17th in true strokes gained putting.
His track record at Colonial doesn’t jump off the page, but this will be his third trip to the Charles Schwab, and I expect him to rebound following his early exit from the PGA Championship.
