Sleeper pick to win: Justin Thomas
+4000 at BetMGM
It isn’t often Justin Thomas is priced in this range, and his game is starting to come together with four consecutive Top 25s while gaining true strokes across the board. He’s eighth in tee-to-green play during the stretch, too.
This will also be the 13th trip to Muirfield Village for Thomas, and he’s flashed with a T4 here in 2017, in addition to carding a solo second in the 2020 Workday Charity Open.
I recommend backing Thomas to +3500, if his odds begin to drop.
Sleeper pick to win: Alex Smalley
+5000 at BetMGM
Another week, another endorsement for Alex Smalley.
He continues to contend with four Top 10s across his past five events while ranking 11th in this field in true strokes gained tee-to-green and 12th in putting. I also particularly value Smalley ranking fourth on approaches during the heater.
Add Smalley ranking 10th in adjusted scoring average and 14th in bogey avoidance, and his well-rounded game checks all the boxes. I’d back him down to +4000 in the outright market.
Sleeper pick to win: Sepp Straka
+5500 at BetMGM
The four-time PGA Tour winner has gained true strokes on approaches in five straight events to rank fourth in this field, and Sepp Straka also has consecutive Top 5s in this event.
Additionally, he finished seventh in true strokes gained tee-to-green here last year and eighth in the metric in 2024, so with Straka also gaining true strokes on the greens in each of his past four trips at Muirfield Village, he’s a proven course fit.
He’s in play down to +4500.
