My Point, IF YOU ARE GOING TO LET ONE CONTESTANT IN THE RACE PICK A GAME, YOU OWE IT TO ALL THE OTHERS IF THE LINE IS THE SAME TO MAKE THE SAME SELECTION.

Thanks for the responses guys, but that still doesnt answer the question, why are certain member's plays hidden? If it was to prevent tailing, then ALL of the picks would be hidden.
This isn't making sense, guess I'll have to email covers to see what's up with this.
Most of the time I have no problem seeing the other plays picks (I dont tail people anyway, as that is a bad strategy..lol I want to win the race)
but just now I had about 90% of the people i checked it said "Hidden" and 10% were not hidden
I cant make sense of this. Just curious to understand why it is like this.

Nope, thas not why. They have made picks and it still says that. I think its just an error, as it doesnt happen that often (It happened even with my OWN picks ! lol it said they were hidden)

I really think it is just a matter of whether or not there is a pending pick. If they have a "Pending" status on the leaderboard, their plays have shown up on my end. I think you are just being freaked out by the language of the message but are ignoring the end of message:
"Pending picks are hidden due to contest rules or the contestant has no pending picks."
If Covers is not actually hiding picks on behalf of contestants, they should simply remove that wording from that message. I think it is simply a contestant without any active picks made at that time. If anything, I think that is a generic message Covers now uses, as they may utilize hidden picks (possibly until the pick's game is live) in their private Pools. In their public contests, I have yet to see something like hidden picks.
If you claim to see your own profile displaying this message, it is either a glitch or something that you are missing with regard to having an actually locked pick. Just my 2 cents.

its no big deal though, i realized it only happens towards the end of the game., probably while they are grading the wager
so its all good my question ahs been answered. I wish honestly they would hide the plays. I dont like it that people can copy off each other.
its a way people can cheat to win. Like that gutterrat guy bragging about how he is going to win the contest, anyone ahead of him can just copy his plays and guarantee they will beat him (if he was infact good enough to win, which it looks like he might be by his record)
But I guess isnce they will hide plays towards the end that wont work nesseccaily

Sometimes, a contestant will make only half of their selections overnight (thus exposing them to anyone who wishes to play the "tail or fade" game). They may make their other plays last minute or wait to see if lines move in their favor or something. They do this while also running the risk of consensus or line moves taking potential plays off of the board...as it does for anyone wanting to tail or fade.
Keeping plays open vs hidden may be weird to some, but it, at least, keeps the same transparency the other public competitions on Covers have. A lot of users have nothing better to do than say this & that are "rigged" so this is one less thing they can have conspiracy theories about (or fewer theories).
