Goose is a liberal nut job, and the truth never sinks in with these people, as they live off of emotions, even when overwhelming facts show otherwise. He wanted to live vicariously through CG, even though CG never had the maturity to even make this work from the get-go.
College Gambler burned all his bridges back home, ran off to Vegas with some inheritance money, and is not only an impulsive, degenerate gambler, but a drug abusing junkie, in denial.
These two are great proponents for one another, as NEITHER wants to confront the reality of this pathetic situation, and admit that even though this saga had some potential on paper, when you throw an emotionally unstable, immature guy like CG into the lead role, the whole scenario quickly implodes.
