I kind of disagree, but I do see your point, and agree that in the last few weeks, there was less and less "handicapping" going on, and I think (obviously just assumption based on his posts and videos) that when he was "capping" that his brain was running on booze and blow, and probablynot functioning at anywhere near the proper level to be making solid decisions on games.
Where I disagree is, that for him discipline, patience, emotion and money management, were his biggest downfall. The guy could have capped at 65%+ and I think we still end up in the same spot, maybe not at the same time, but the same end result nonetheless. Reason being that he could not handle any losing streaks. HeII, he couldn't handle the IN GAME ups and downs, let alone the losing streaks anyone will suffer to their bottom line.
Another key was that he never bothered to EVER reflect on his results in a constructive way. If he won, he was "dialed in" (with a few exceptions where he was admittedly lucky), if he lost, he went ape$hit crazy, especially if it was a close loss. Rather than sit down and try and analyze his game selection, he just made excuse after excuse (whether justified or not, excuses are still just that). Van even told him early on to try and figure out WHY he was able to hit 60% on football. Answer: crickets. If you don't know WHY you are successful, how do you expect to maintain it? Same goes for losing.
But I do agree, after 10k plus posts in the thread, I never saw anything special about his picks or insight for baseball or basketball. It was amateur through and through, and as one, I can spot one a mile away.
I agree, no real shame in giving it a shot. It's his money, his life. I mean, I really don't care what anyone thinks of how I spend my money and time, nor should he. What's sad though is that he came to this forum to tell his story, in real time, and while he wanted to do things his way, he completely ignored a good opportunity to discuss strategies/plans/thoughts, etc, about anything. He literally ignored every single piece of advice ever typed here, even his own. Now, some of that advice might have been hor$e$hit, but it was still a good opportunity to bounce ideas back and forth and mold his plan as needed.
