Having seen Van's world cup threads, I can assure you he doesn't flat bet the same amount on every game.

Besides, the notion of "flat bet or die" is just wrong. Does it work for some? Yes. Would this benefit someone like CG with no discipline? Abso - f*ckin - lutely. 

But for those who DO have discipline, it's silly to say you are going to bet the same amount on every play no matter what. The key is not letting past results dictate what you are going to bet on a game. If a play qualifies as a 1 unit play, you bet 1 units. If a play qualifies as a 3 unit play you bet 3 units. Amateurs like CG alter their bet amounts based on whether they have been up or down on the previous day or so. 

A 1 unit play should be a 1 unit play if you are up $10,000 or down $10,000 on the week. a 3 unit play should be a 3 unit play if you are up $10,000, or down $10,000 on the week. The key is having the discipline to stick with that no matter what.

There's no right or wrong way to do it... CG wasnt afraid to fire which is a part of winning. When the stars are all aligned you have to fire away... Otherwise you should just go buy a lottery ticket or grind out your 50 dollar New England plays like what she said earlier... We may all not disagree with CG... Hell there are many that hit way higher percentages,, but knowing when to fire and doing it is another aspect of handicappers that can set apart from the rest... I once read Billy lost his home flipping coins in a back yard... Its all of these experiences that enrich us to not be afraid of winning... Congrats on the win CG... Nice to know you have somewhat of a plan moving forward.... If you can do it out there,, you can lead many to believe they can too...

LOL. You will never find me in any Simsbury 1974 reunion photo because I have NEVER been in any.  I was a Partying Greaser in High School.  I rebuilt engines and helped others keep their cars going with tune ups and brake jobs.  Google Dale Hall.  A Simsbury Car Shop Owner who helped us kids rebuild engines.

Me and Asian Milf just got in from a night out on the strip. 4-0 when she bets with me. Amazing luck this beauty is for me. Everytime I bet and she wants to join me I put $20 on my side for me and she pays me $20 when she sees me. 4-0 doing this with her. Ready for bases and most importantly to deposit a big chunk back in bank Monday

I apologize. I was a little on edge with Nick's almost 9K swing.  Feeling a lot better now that March Madness is over and the kid can settle down into Plus-Money baseball wagers.  Looking good, feeling good.

there is so much wrong with this post that its difficult to know where to begin....but here,let me give it a go.

 
im pretty sure that being in the top 95% of all gamblers aint anything to brag about...hell,i mite be in that 95 and im awful at gambling.

grounded??...well,i just looked up grounded in the dictionary and it had a picture of college gambler with an arrow next to it and the words "NOT THIS GUY!!".

well,no of course its not sum game....strippers,milfs galore,getting drunk and in fights,doing lines and weed,indiscriminately dropping bombs and flying off the handle at every loss....its 100% clear that the guy is taking this very,very seriously and would not even consider doing a single thing to jeopardise his lifes dream.

can anyone else confirm this??wat the hell is the difference between march and all the other months of the year??...wat,books just decide"okay its march now,time to put out sum REALLY tough lines!!..no more freebies".??

well,this may be true but i havent yet had the dream where i end up in jail or at the welfare office begging for a check.

"Top 95%" literally means not among the abject worst 5% Goose, that's not remotely a compliment.

You meant in the "top 5%" and almost no one would agree with you on that (re CG)

melossinglet: I am going to be 59 years old in November.  My Wifey of 23 years, been with her for 26 years, is 11 years younger than I.  So I can assure you there is no "Man Crush" with CG.  It may sound corny, but I think of CG as a son.  I give him advice which he rarely absorbs because he is one stubborn bastaard.  But at least he still listens to me and thinks about my lifetime of knowledge.  You can go back to page # 1 of this Thread.  Look at post # 13.  I have been supportive of CG from BEFORE the very start of his journey.  This IS NOT a man crush.  It is a life-long degenerate trying to steer a renegade in the right direction so as not to make the same mistakes in life that I have made.  CG is only 26 or 27 years old. If I only had the knowledge and mentor of a 59 year old at that young age, how far could I have progressed?

I hope this helps explain the "quirkyness" you perceive.

For the record, your close friend "The CG" recently had a birthday and turned 28.  

I can't even count how many have tried to counsel "The CG" with good advice in these 423 pages.  The fact that he may "listen" to you does not stop the advice from falling on deaf ears.  Seeing, he does not see and hearing, he does not hear.  It is quite clear that he does not want to benefit or learn from anyone's past experiences...he wants to take his lumps at full power in the school of hard knocks.

No better place to do it than Vegas so I find it highly appropriate that he journeyed to the best place in America to get beat up by the gambling world.

But make no mistake, I still pull for the kid.  It must be part of my human nature to see a train wreck and try to save the poor guy tied to the tracks.  Only one kind of "love" can save him though and it's the toughest brand of love possible.  Nothing else has a chance to get through the thickest skull that Jersey can produce.

Appreciate your efforts, Goose.  Just don't take leave the kid gloves on so often brother.  The "stubborn" force is strong with this one and a few bruises and cuts will need to be applied to steer him in the right direction.

CG is a lost cause Goose, you can try and help him all you want and you can want to have faith in him but we all k now how this story ends. He doesn't have what it takes to be a professional gambler at this time, actually he doesn't have what it takes to even survive in this game yet.
