Not to derail this, but I just want to remind everyone how great Matchbook was.  Currently on the Duke-Utah game the money line is Duke -192 / Utah +190.  One-cent juice basically.  With commissions, tack on another cent basically.

Oh, Matchbook, please come back to us some day.

Right now I am drunk and was just hitting on this Milf that was with her daughter. Meeting the Asian Milf at a local bar here around 7 just in time for gametime. Got great burgers and typical bar food there. Gotta go place her $22/$20 wager for her on Sparty. She says she will pay me back when she arrives. You should have bought West Virginia to 40, not 14 and you'd know what winning feels like. May have cost got ya a -3400 line but you could have counted it as a W on your illustrious record.

Not advocating buying points at all.  But does it matter what all games are?  Wouldn't it be more accurate to check coin flip games such as -2 lines? I am sure they fall on 1 more than a -10 line, etc.

The line is irrelevant.  He's talking about where the result is in relation to the line.  So for -10 spreads, the game ends at a 9 or 11 point margin 2% of the time.  That's how I am reading it.  

In a vacuum, all games are "coin flips" when you take the line into account.

Correct. That's what I am asking. Line in ncaab falls within 2 pts only 2% of the time? 
Yes. Designed to be coin flips. Trick is to separate them.

Not sure it would surprise me that a line the oddsmakers basically set at a last possession shot would hit closer than a DD spread, for example.

Bermax had told me games end up within 2 pts of the line about 16% of the time.  I'm not sure what he's saying with the 2%, maybe buying the half?  I know a lot more than 2% of the time I have games end up a half point tho...
