I like Purdue myself as well, bought a full point to get it down to -5 (-130) just because I was concerned about it being tight at the end.

There will just be some games like this.  Part of the variance.  Another reason yet again you should be grinding with $500 bets and no $1k bets right now.

Bankroll is just too small for $1k bets at this point.  Can't take the variance.

How is that cursed?  You bet a 5.5 fav who was losing outright for over 75% of the game.  Cursed would be if it was multiple games you lost on the same day where your team was covering all game then you had MULTIPLE bizarre things happen in the last minute. In each game.

How many 2,100 swings does it take to make Vegas seem a little less appealing?  You know - you can still live there and use online to get a better number.  No harm in that.

Nice call, you had to really be sweating it out at the end....     I usually just stay away from those hoop wagers that i feel are going to be so close that I probably should be buying a point or two or three..    I'm going to revise my thinking

Not the same as getting ready and plopping down a couple of grand in person at a casino where the action is all over......certainly not the same as getting BACK 4 grand on the spot if you win both.  
Not a crime....he said the lifestyle is important to him....But it does have its drawbacks.

Purdue may or may not have had "no business" covering at the end of the game.  But nobody knew that for sure at the start.

Unless you and your crystal ball said something to that effect PRIOR to the game starting?

Your initial instinct of staying away was correct. Buying a basketball point for -130 is absolutely absurd on every level. 

Sure, it helped in this case but it is a losing proposition long term. An absolute, incredible losing proposition.

So the cost of doing business is to lose 2k becasue you want to play in the casino with everyone else? Waiting in line hoping the line doesnt move or the game doesnt start becasue you have a rookie at the window throwing down 5 buck 10 team parlays?

I usually agree with Hutch on most things but he's off here. It IS a crime. If you do this for a living "the lifestyle" is a distant, distant factor compared to putting yourself in the best position to get the best line.

Rangerz and Vanzack must make at least 10 million a year on sports betting.  How can you ever lose you have the answer to everything. You guys are amazing!!! No matter if its bankroll management or capping or even how to live a lifestyle you have the answer on how it should be done.

And I can't believe the "curse" word is already made its appearance.  That Spurs game was dirty pool, but you have had some VERY close shaves on plenty of the games you have bet.  

When it comes to the 7 habits of highly effective people, CG exhibits all but 7 of them.  

That is one toxic mindset.

We're on the same side here.  I'm not saying it's the right thing to do, but that is exactly what he is doing....and that's the price he is paying to live and do business his way.  Considering the fix is a very simple one (just bet on line...even if he's in Vegas), I'm assuming that this piece (actually going to the casino, getting a ticket, and cashing them there) is important to him some way.  If not, why would he still be doing it considering all of the money he has already given away?

How can you NOT get by on 3K a month???  That is nowhere near the poverty level.  That is more than 3X the poverty level for a single person.  $17/hr.  What young, single guy with no kids can't get by on that?  That is the problem now:  people living beyond their means and blaming it on lack of income. 
Certainly you shouldn't be gambling it away.  But if you hit 57% as he claims to have done for so long---then that is just as good as a 401K if managed correctly. 
Certainly the plan should be to increase income. Maybe it will be tricky to---slowly and patiently---do this without another part-time income.   But it can be done.
