If the weather is bad (which means only rain), this HAS to favor the Bears over an indoor team. I really don't think it will effect (or is it affect?) the offenses either way. But it could have some HUGE implications on special teams. Try getting a snap and hold on a field goal in the rain. It's not automatic. Just ask Dallas. If the field gets slick, I see Devon Hester dodging many people.........

GL to you as well TB
Just saw this and thought I would share......

Larry: What is the record of dome teams in the Super Bowl?

    Bill D.
    Chicago

Bill: A dome team has never won an outdoor Super Bowl. In fact, the 1999 St. Louis Rams are the only team to win a Super Bowl, and they did so in the Georgia Dome. Only two other dome teams have reached the Super Bowl and both lost: the 1998 Atlanta Falcons and the 2001 Rams. Lovie Smith, by the way, was St. Louis’ defensive coordinator in that game.

btw, Tea Bag the first Super Bowl I remember is Colts/Cowboys in SB 5...the "Blunder Bowl" they called it....I was living in Dallas at the time and Jim O'Brien broke young scorpio's heart with that last second FG....of course Craig Morton helped in that, too!!

I've got an 8 a.m. tee time tomorrow morning here in California, so I'm going to miss all the action tomorrow morning here on the forum. Picking up some Popeye's chicken and some beer on the way home to complete my day. Be home by kickoff.

I'm taking the Bears and the points. You hear a lot of crap about Grossman, but the Bears are not about their quarterback. Guess which team is?
Which qb has thrown 5 picks in two games? If you said Grossman, that would be incorrect.

What kills me the most is the people (not all on this board) that say "Well, Manning has had a few bad games, BUT THE COLTS WON"............................but if Grossman has a bad game and the Bears win, THAT'S DIFFERENT.

And the people that say "Hey, that Colt defense agains the run is really going great!" Well, yes, for two games, they have played like they haven't played all year.

Let me say that again: THEY HAVE PLAYED LIKE THEY HAVEN'T ALL YEAR.

For all of you who are going to say, well, the defense is coming around, I'll have to counter with Manning is getting tired.

UH, I KNOW MANNING ISN'T TIRED, BUT IF YOU KEEP SAYING THE COLTS CAN STOP THE RUN, THEN YOU HAVE TO SAY MANNING WILL CONTINUE TO THROW PICKS

You can't have it both ways. You can't say the Colts defense is going to stuff the Bears versus the run. I'll take the first 16 games of the season for proof instead of the last two. Just like Manning throwing picks. You think that is going to keep up? I REALLY DOUBT MANNING WILL THROW MORE THAN ONE PICK. And if he does throw one, it'll probably be off Marvin (1td in 12 playoff games but look at MY REGULAR SEASON STATS) Harrison's hands.

Again, another long shot. But that is what this game is. Everyone on the planet says defense wins championships. If that is the case, you'd have to say the Bears have a shot, especially with Tank Johnson and his 500 bullets. THAT'S A HOLE 'NOTHER FORUM, but, IMHO, Tank, buddy, when you live in a gated community, how many guns/bullets do you really need? Oh, and thanks for playing the race card. Us whiteys just don't understand. Don't listen to me, go to Jay Mariotti's column from the Chicago Sun Times and form your own opinion.

Well, let's cut to the chase-Manning-great qb, but just one guy. Grossman-not great, but what if he has one of those 100+ rating games instead of 60?

Rushing game-I'm gonna call this EVEN. You point out to me the lopsided advantage.

Defense-this has to be the Bears. HOW DO YOU THINK THEY GOT HERE?
They shut down the FeelGoodStoryOfTheYearSaints-the team that scored the most points in the nfc.

Special Teams-EVEN-Devon Hester vs. Adam Vinitari (and please, no jackoffs yelling "but he doesn't kick to Hester, he kicks FIELD GOALS!") I'm talking about a one specialist vs. another specialist.

I know I haven't broken down EVERYTHING ("Hey, what about the Colt receivers?")
    I don't have time for OL/DL/LB/DB/TE comparisons..................

But, I do have a tee time

See you tomorrow, and Good Luck to all

Gotta throw a blanket on that dome team / outdoor thingy.
Given the few teams that actually still play in a dome, wouldn't it make sense that you wouldn't see many that won the Super Bowl indoors or outdoors? List of the dome teams in the NFL -
    Minnesota
    Atlanta
    Colts
    New Orleans
4 out of 32, see my point?

Morton was a bum...he threw two picks in that game...including a late one to set up O'Briens winning FG...next year Roger beats him out during the season and Dallas wins super Bowl 6...two trivia questions...

Only player to be MVP from the losing team??...Dallas LB Chuck Howley, SB 5

Only team to deny a touchdown during the game: Dallas beating Miami 24-3 in SB 6...

Remember Ditka's TD catch to salt the game away, TeaBag??....seems like yesterday...lol!!!

I know nobody wants to hear this, but the Bears did

    LEAD THE NFC IN POINTS

You can say the NFC Norris is weak, but I'm pretty sure the Bears don't get to schedule what division they're in..................

OK...my turn Tea Bag....yes, Miami was undefeated that year (1972)  but never played Dallas that season (they got beat by the Skins in the NFC Championshp game)...

The Griese for 6-9-100 game was the next year (1973) when they beat the Vikings in SB 8 in the stadium of the Rice Owls in Houston...Csonka ran for a ton that day..all they did was run..it was a dull game...the final score was 24-7 and Griese was actually 6-7-73 as Csonka carried 33 times for 145!
