It's hard to get a lobby that will be heard 'cause the public perception of "a gambler" is that of a low-life bum who is basically nothing but scum and has lost all his money and lost his family.

The best attack is to bring up the hypocrisy of how lotto, dogs, and horses are legal and fine, but betting on the Jets is hideous. But no one will hear that one either. The second best attack is to explain and show the politicos how the states could make "bewkews" of bucks by legalizing the stuff and taxing the revenue.

It almost seemed that Senater King was going to personally benifit from this Port bill being passed its like an open cash register for all the lobbiest and senaters that this passed because now the government is going to allocate all this money into the ports and its going to go were they want it and how its going to be dispersed to the new Port security rules and with contract bids and you know --Banana republic !!

I just hope that this money is put into the right hands and is used in the most effective way --I live near a major port and would not like something to happen to my town --The way the government handled the Katrina funds only goes to show you that we as a country cant handle allocating money to help ourselfs --this country is only good a giving it away to another country and sometimes we cant even do that right -!!

I know this Iam a former ny er and live in south florida and its a shame that no one is taking the proper road to get this done right but they rushed it threw --- like its going to just be another way to have contract bids and fraud in any city usa when these funds come trickling to so they can mis manage how these funds are really going to protect us!!

My point is I really wanted this bill to go threw --its very important for this country to have this protection but they do everything half ass and are going to spend billions of dollars and there is going to be a whole lot of fraud and waste that comes from the birth of this bill and thats what really pisses me off that they attach something that has nothing to do with this whole idea and leaves the idea half finished and peoples lives at stake and iam afraid more of a dirty bomb getting threw from a container at the port then my son gambling on line at my house!!
