Thanks for the info - now why dont you take beets advice and buzz off?  I think you have made your point here, vanzack is a fraud, you can prove it..... blah blah blah.

You will get your chance on the hot seat one day big boy.  Keep working at it.  For now, your little news flashes might be better suited in a separate thread.

Im going in order in this one, and I am on post #26.  I have answered your moronic questions, now go play in a different playground.  You are boring.

Support your local animal shelter. I am on twitter.

Don't bother with him. He's mildly retarded. Well, not mildly.

Anyway, that's what I was fearing most about Matchbook. I read somewhere today that they were sold, and leaving the US was a possibility. Awful timing, considering their best market is about to begin with baseball.

    Thanks.

    Further questions:

    1. Ever meet anyone from covers in real life? If so, who and what were the circumstances?

    2. Where is your favorite place (hotel) to stay in Vegas?

    3. Please tell the story of getting kicked out of a large US bank for the weird Carribean square check.

    4. How many books do you post up with online? Ever go for the riskier ones or been there, done that?

    5. Was there any single event that made you go "you know what? I could probably do this for a living and be successful?"

    Oh, and:

    6. Why do you avoid betting on NBA and NCAAB? Inability to hit certain targets in your experience, or just no love for the roundball as a sport?

    Great thread...

since someone asked my "why dont you bet NCAAB" (surprised too because I feel like this is easier than NFL and  most other sports) I wont ask that.

    1) With regards to stopping sometimes when you reach your goal, and stopping if you have lost too much...is your stopping based on $ and winning based on money exactly the same, just positive and negative...for example...say you want to win 300k in one sport, you get there, you stop. Say you wont lose more than 300k...you lose that, you stop. Do you feel like that since you have spreadsheets and so forth that you are hurting yourself in the long run by stopping when you reach your goal? And if the 300k number is different for each sport, you definitely could be. Say you are willing to lose 600, but only willing to win 300, you could have 2 winning sports and stop and 1 losing sport and stop, and ultimately break even. I am sure you get what I mean, not properly explained on my part.

    2) You seem like to travel a fair share...what is your favorite spot in the Caribbean?

Back to the questions.....  I am going in order, will answer them all, and am on post #26 right now....

what percentage of your bankroll do you tie up in futures plays, if any...??

I dont have a predetermined criteria.  I always look at bets and analyze how I can get the same price for the same bet, in other words, most futures can be bet multiple ways such as rolling over individual bets, and I always try to get the same price.  But no criteria in terms of bankroll - if I see something I perceive as value - I bet it in line with my unit system.

looking back in time, at what age would you pin yourself as a "gambler"??

It is in my DNA to take risks.  From a very young age.  But I dont know if I consider myself to be a gambler, I am surprisingly conservative with personal finances and I hardly ever gamble for fun.  I have gone to casinos with friends and sat and watched them play.  I dont need the rush, I can leave it any time.have you ever worked on the other side of the fence?? if so, elaborate, if you wish, as to it's impact, if any, on your capping

I pretended to be a bookie in college.  But I didnt have the stomach for it.  Im not a rough and tough guy, Im just a normal kind of guy, and when I started getting the run around I couldnt enforce payments.  I was more shocked that gamblers didnt have the moral code to pay their debts, but have come to realize that there are 2 types of gamblers - degenerates and investors - you need to be able to separate the two to run a successful credit business.

when all hell breaks loose, do you reach for your chuks, or your firearm of choice??

I am a peaceful guy.  When all hell breaks loose I use my brain first, and if that doesnt work, Im probably in trouble.

I love this question.  Made me really think.

When this site first started, there was one forum room (Lou's Hot Tub) and maybe 10 posts a day.  I was just so amazed and excited to find that there were actually other people who gambled in the world.  I was a corporate guy who was very soiltary with my gambling, but now I could post messages about who I liked and gambling theory with other closet gamblers?  Nirvana had arrived.

A couple of years after I found covers, the gambling climate was at its alltime best.  Mansion, Pinnacle, Neteller - they were all there.  I could see a line I wanted to bet, and within 5 minutes have a neteller withdrawal from one book, and a transfer to the target book, and have 25k on a line that I loved.  I was transferring money in and out of my bank account to neteller in ridiculous frequency.  Those were the days.  Not because it was fun or it was convenient - but BECAUSE IT MADE ME MORE PROFITABLE.

Fast forward to today, and the gambling climate is the worst it has ever been.  But covers?  Covers is busier than ever.  I think it is no secret that covers has emerged as a recreational gamblers paradise, and there are always going to be people willing to lay -110 and lose money for entertainment, and they need a place to go.  I guess I am attracted to this place because those kind of people are generally more entertaining than brainiac statisticians, and I generally use covers for entertainment.  Where else can you post something and have 50 responses in 10 minutes?  If there is any action I am addicted to, it is the action at covers - sometimes I hit refresh on a hot thread so many times I think my computer will start smoking.

People come and go - it is the nature of life but even amplified when gambling is there.  This place has had plenty of comings and goings - but overall - I am more entertained here than anywhere.  Afterall, where else can you learn about anal pregnancy, a fleshlight, or baking a pie to land a date?

Explain this picture using a descriptive style summary. Also if you could please write your paragraph in Portuguese

I cant do it in portuguese, but I will tell you that I could write a post that I loved Hitler and it wouldnt get as much negative vitriole (sp?) as that avatar.  I posted above in this thread about it, I loved discussing high level math and theory, only to have the person eventually ask me sheepishly if that avatar was really me.  I get a sick satisfaction from that - and it cements my theory that humans generally stereotype to get through life.

Answered this earlier because of the MB closing last night to Americans.....  But one more thought....

I think (and this is only opinion) that you will see a new exchange rise up for Americans to fill the void.  It might take several years, but we have seen that things happen fast in the offshore world, so keep your eyes open.  It is the future - the only future I see - for sportsbetting.

As for me - I think it would take a miracle for me NOT to skip MLB this season.  I cant lay -108 at pinny and make money over the whole season.  My margins are razor tight, and that was with MB.

Getty - my method is to come up with a "gut line" and a "stats line".  The stats line is blind to anything but paper stats, but the gut line is what I come up with - so it is imperative that I watch.  There are times that my gut line is less important than my stats line, but there are other times where my gut line is what is driving me.

For instance - the World Cup this past summer was all gut.  There are no stats to go on other than surface stuff that would mean nothing in a computer analysis.  So watching was very important.  But do I watch every baseball game during a season?  Not at all, in fact MLB is proably the least important to watch - and many nights I go to bed not knowing a single result until the AM only to find out if I won or lost the night before.  MLB is a stats driven game - and even my gut line is determined a lot by my stats bias in my head.
