Once the games start could someone let me know what they were. just curious for the record.......i think it is illegal to post them prior to tip...but the link keeps kicking me out at about the 3 minute mark. i have tried it 4 times now and dont have time to complete the 28 minutes if the first game is at 7......i have had computer trouble the past 2 days so it is probably somehting with my system

To pay $400 per month for your picks. It is a proving ground here...talk is cheap. Everyone has runs, and it seems all covers promos show the "runs" happening. Very rarely are capper's season records posted on all sports for cappers/years past. I imagine results would compare to a hedge fund manager (whose average returns lose 5% more than the market after fees.)
Have 10+ star cappers, someone is bound to have a run..."13-2 on fridays"..."12-2 on televised games" you disect average numbers and you can find a run somewhere.

Interesting that this thread has become a shadow discussion on whether or not to use a pro handicapping service. Some of the arguments above are:
1 - handicapping services do not live up to their claims (e.g. that 60% winners is unrealistic)
2 - that the handicapping fees are not factored into the winning percentages
3 - that self-monitored handicapping sites misrepresent their records (losing games disappear from the record).
Let me advance another argument about handicapping services. It is this: handicappers get paid for giving out picks; not winners. Period.
They don't get paid when you win; they get paid up front to give you games to bet. They give you what you pay for: picks. I've worked with at least a dozen pro handicappers over the years, and I've never lost more money than I have when I trusted my bankroll to a professional. They simply give out too many games in too many sports, and are indifferent to the impact on the bettor.
They are afraid that if they cut back on their action and are very selective about the games they give out, their customers will lose interest and walk away. And to be fair, some will.
You see, the economics are backwards. Bettors make money when a handicapper specializes in one sport and gives out very few picks. But a handicapper could never stay in business if he or she did that.
Handicappers make money when they sell their season picks in as many sports as possible and give out picks to satisfy their customers' desire for "action." Of course, you cannot specialize in four or five different sports. There simply are not enough hours in the day.
Get the picture?

im not going to use this thread to get into a convo about buying picks - its about the radio show and the bet - we have started bad - my god we are on day 2 guys - seriously - you will have your chance to get upset if we actually suck over the 50 days - but im now going to stay out of these threads as I do not want to see this stuff day to day
Ilovekim - different story - you bought my picks and i sucked crap tonight - but man im up huge units since i joined covers long term - since january 1st short term - this stuff happens - everyone knows it - its gambling - im not immune - i dont claim 60% records - i win steady money for my customers - 9 out of 10 times you buy a month from me you win - but now im starting to sound like a salesmen and fuck that - i don't want to go there - i just want to use this to promote the radio show.
I will find out about the opening song tomorrow - i don't know.

I dont know if you saw my previous post but here it is again...
Prez I have a legit question...
I am looking at your page and I noticed that when you WIN a game, it goes to the top of the "Last 10 picks list, but when you LOSE, it goes to the middle so it gets erased quicker.
Example - Spurs WIN (top of the list)
Lakers over LOSE (under your two winners for the day)
Spurs game ended 3 hours before the Lakers game did. I know for a fact if you won the Lakers game and lost the Spurs, your winning bet would be on the top...

Anyways, he obviously had no reasonable reasoning for this stating that he was not in control of how the wins and losses are posted. That's fine but these guys are like any other cappers. They get people thinking that they are great and up over 100 units blah blah. The thing is, it is not that hard to do so when they are betting 500-1000 units per game. That is just ridiculous to the average bettor. They all go through hot and cold streaks and get ppl to take the bait while they are on a hot streak. Then the subscribers ride out the cold streak and end up paying 400 a month to lose more money. Hate to compare it to a move, but "Two For the Money" wasn't exactly wrong on how the business works.

Prez, I am one of those new listeners you guys talked about on todays show (causing the spike in the rating). I took a chance, and have played each one of you and ted's bets so far.... and lost big. All I'm asking is to give me a reason to keep listening. I also have a question...
Would you consider the picks you and Ted are putting out your strongest play of the day? Or are you saving those for the paying customers?

you guys can always do a chase with their picks, maybe a 5 game chase just make sure you start low enough so you can afford a fifth game if they lose 4 in a row or you can do the reverse and fade there plays as a chase.
U could do it like this risk these amounts $10, $20 2, $40, $85, $180
Once a bet wins start over at $10. This way all they have to do is hit 1 out of 5 to make money.
if you guys think they will suck just fade there plays, this works either way.

mikeg - i would consider them our best picks - we might have a better one later in the dfay as its early - but those are picks we are selling - we do this 365 for 10 years - we are going to win and lose - garister makes a good point - if you think we suck just fade us - but we don't need to hear you bitching us out all because we worked hard enough to become covers experts

Prez I am not a subscriber so no problem here. I was simply trying to point out something I noticed.
For the record, I don't think its fair for people to blast you when you have a couple bad days, everyone goes through it and were all human. People need to understand they are taking chances when they follow others picks just as they were as if they were making their own picks. You get what you pay for...

I know people get mad when they buy picks and they lose and its completely justifiable. But the fact is, no one is putting a gun to your head to tell you to buy the picks. If you buy the picks, you have to deal with the ups and downs. I'd be mad as hell too if I paid 400 a month for picks and ended up losing, but you definitely can't blame the guy who you bought the picks off.
Sorry Prez if you end up losing customers because of this but its the truth. There is a reason it's called gambling. There are no sure bets no matter how good of a capper you are. Winning money betting on sports is hard enough, and it's even harder when you are paying other ppl to make your picks. You start off in the hole from the beginning.
