Zverev v Tsitsipas

Tsitsipas has won this tournament twice and his  12 straight games won in his last match is probably giving him a bit of weight in the odds department. That has to be a confidence builder for him too especially since he’s 1-5 against the top 20 since November. His lone win coming against Tiafoe who looks more like a top 40 player now. I’m fading him here because his outings against top players hasn’t been good and until he shows otherwise, I’m going to fade him when the line is this close.

His opponent, Zverev has been broken 3 times over his last 6 matches. 2 of those breaks against a possessed Dimitrov. Zverev has been playing like a top 3 player this year. His serve is smoking. His first match here he lost only 3 points on his second serve. Unless Tsitsipas plays his best tennis, I don’t see how he’ll beat Zverev.

I didn’t choose Tsitsipas only because of his mentality, but for all his qualities and skills, Zverev is not able to beat him on clay

And hey, Tsitsipas when he shows up can hit with anyone. He just hasn’t shown up for 4 months. Bad luck on my part betting on the hometown boy.

I live bet the over in this one. Hard loss. Zverev has been in excellent form and still has the upside to be top 4 in my opinion. Tsitsipas is just a man possessed right now
