No offence man but that was more Bengu totally imploding.
That was prolly the worst collapse in a tennis match I have ever seen.
She was in total control. She was dominating that entire set and Vinci looked toast. She had prolly the easies shot to hit for a 5-2 lead, couldnt hit the easy backend open court and then couldnt finish a pretty easy open court volley. After that she just basically gave up. Those last two services games from her where disgusting and this was from someone who hardly lost a point on serve in the set before that. It almost looked like Bengu just wanted to get off the court at the end.
Vinci didnt win that match, Bengu lost it. That was easily the worst meltdown I have ever seen.

I mean did you see how many break point chances IC had to go up 3-0 then to go up 4-1 then finally to go up 5-2 and give herself a few shots at serving for the match. Vinci was breathing heavy and could hardly move. Then Bengu missed that easy shot at break point and Vinci all the sudden got some energy and Bengu imploded. Congrats on your victory but Vinci was getting totally controlled until Bengu has a major meltdown. That was way more Bengu losing the 3rd set then Vinci winning. Bengu couldnt find the court (even doubles court on many shots) was doubling faulting and even missing the ball on easier volleys.
That was simply a collapse, nothing more.

Before the implode (winning 4-2, up 30-40 and with a sitter at the net) she was totally dominating. She was winning 75% of the points and Vinci didnt even come close to sniffing a break point. The only thing wrong about this statement is that Vinci wasnt dead, she was playing possum with her younger opponent... that match barely sniffed the the 2 hr mark and Vinci was playing at a very fast tempo in the first two sets and then slowed in down considerabley down a break in the 3rd... Was it a factor, who knows, but she wasnt tired, she was just getting out paced and outplayed by Begu

Vinci had lost like 8 of the last 9 games.
She was down 2-0 in the third set and had to fight off BP's from going down 3-0. She was being pressured in the 3-1 game. Bengu had her 4-2 and was winning almost every single point on serve. Vinci wasnt even sniffing a thing with Bengu serving. Then she has BP to go up 5-2, and its basically one of the easiest shots to hit. A sitting ball right at the net and she could have done so many things with it but got tight and hardly even hit it, it got returned and she still had a very easy forehand volley into a open court and she shanked it. After that point she totally lost it. She could hardly rally. She was hitting the ball outside the doubles lines frequently. She was double faulting. She was missing easy volleys. She went from basically playing some of the best quality she could, to playing just as bad as someone could. She lost here serve at 4-3 at freaking LOVE. In here final service game she got down 0-30. She lost the first 6 points on serve in the two biggest games of the match and it was more mental then anything.
Im guessing the people that say it wasnt that bad or that she wasnt really dominating Vinci didnt watch the match and only tracked it by livescore. This was one of the worst collapses in a final set youll see. She was in utter control and totally imploded. All Vinci had to do was basically get the ball back and Bengu did the rest of the work.
