Kaitlin Quevedo ML (+125)
Madrid Quals
@jvarghese
Blinkova has never been great on clay. In the first qual round she got a 6-3 6-3 win but it was against a young Spanish qual WC ranked in the 1400s.
The other young Spaniard, Quevedo, has some good clay results recently including beating Parrizas-Diaz in Q1 and making a W100 final a couple weeks ago.
Good situational spot with a higher ranked player who is bad on clay playing against a clay specialist.
Another possible factor is that Blinkova is the #1 qual seed. With a field this large you have to think a late withdrawal is likely, which would hand Blinkova a LL spot if she loses here. That withdrawal could also come from someone like Badosa, which could potentially open up a seeded spot with a bye.
