Pliskova have won 10 out of her last 12 wins 2-0, she is rock solid against average players, one of the best serves on the tour, and she has approved a lot since Sasha Bajin joined her team (Serena Williams & N Osaka's old hitting partner)

wind advisory here in so cal. should pick up throughout the day. should affect some high tosses. as if wta needed some more unpredictability

Mertens and Hsieh can't handle this wind, Mertens had 3 double faults in her first serving game and started to serve underarm serves... 

 

Let's see what they change in the second set..

Anyone watching the Pliskova 1st set has just witnessed what a classic 1st set tankjob looks like...for whatever behind the scene reason, Pliskova just lost that 1st set on purpose
