He was up 2-1 winning 3-0 in the 4th set. Is this the correct way to grade it? I’m pretty new to betting tennis.

Some books grade retirements a loss after the first set is complete.  Others void a retirement if the match is not completed.  You must read the rules of your book, each book is different.

depends on your book.. some books will graded as a win, but most as a no bet.
