Choking in Tennis means you lose due to nerves - he won 62% of his 1st serves in 3rd set and 65% in 2nd set, 67% in first - he was ahead once during the entire match that isn’t nerves that is exhaustion and worse play

I know what choking is I watch tennis almost every single day and closely watch all player movement as I bet live a lot and know what choking is and looks like and have seen baez choke many times before, it looked the same as yesterday especially third set. If it makes you feel better then let's just say he got tight. So did djere, its just that djere also played loose and aggressive on many points and it paid off for him. I prefer players like him in tight situations that win or lose go down swinging instead of being afraid to be aggressive more times than not they are the ones who win. What's that roland garros quote with similar saying, I forget verbatim.

Baez is just a jag. He has no margin for error. His game is pesky, he relies on making very few unforced errors and slowly death by 1000 cuts to his opponents. Djere was the much better player. He could crush winners, dictate points. Baez style of tennis is boring, but can be effective. He did up his racket speed as the 3rd set went on. Djere just was able to match him. Was a good match for 250 level tennis.

Besides not sure what posting serve percentages is supposed to show, I wasnt even thinking about that rather the rallies, that was where the meat and detail was located. He lost because when things get tight the demons come out, the negative defeating thoughts in which nerves and ultimately doubt are born Whoever overcomes them better is most times your winner. The mind controls the body, once these thoughts arrived for baez it showed in his shot selection, form, movement around the court, etc...

Unless his soul and body are your summer resident - you can’t say if it is due to nerves, fatigue or just being outmatched - then you normally use statistics to show which one is the most likely cause - nerves normally kick in if you are either behind or just about to lose a big lead you had - why should pop in randomly right after he won 2nd set
