I got this error last night and I want to run the fix but at step 9, it says to insert my XP CD-rom which never came with this pc.
How do I know how far to roll back my drivers? I've had this problem off and on for the past 2-3 weeks.
How easy is it to isolate which program is causing this error? I haven't installed any new hardware so it has to be a software conflict. The only things I've added are Bourne Ultimatum and some pdf books via torrents.
Someone else told me to reformat the hard drive which I don't want to do.

It could be a memory problem. Download this program and let it cook your memory for a few hours. Here is an .iso image download. You can burn it with Nero or any other burning software. It will make a boot disk that you can put in and start the computer up. It will boot from this disk and run the test in pure Dos.
